OMG!!! Guess what I did today????
Today was such an AWESOME day! =D What seemed like a lazy Monday turned into an adventure I never thought possible. No I did not get an autograph from a celebrity. No I did not take any pictures with a celebrity. However, I did get to sing Happy Birthday and eat Birthday cake with none other than Ringo Starr!!!! =D Yup, you heard it right. It’s Ringo Starr’s 74th Birthday today and he invited his fans around LA to join him in front of Capitol Records at noon.
I just saw this post on Facebook this morning, and got ready to head out without a question. I really didn’t know what to expect, but I was beyond excited to see Ringo in person. There was a line already formed on the side of the building and the workers were almost putting the finishing touches to the set up. We all took our spots in the barricade once they opened it up to the public. The crowd was nice and super chill.
Right at noon, Ringo came out and was more than happy to celebrate his Birthday with his fans. We all sang him Happy Birthday and we got to do the Peace & Love sign along with him. I have to admit, it was pretty cool!
John Varvatos and David Lynch were among the attendees. They announced that if we take a selfie with the peace sign and post it on twitter with the hashtag #PeaceRocks, for each and every hashtag they’ll donate $1 for Ringo’s Peace and Love Foundation. So if you are a fan, or if you want to do something nice, I say get that camera and snap snap snap! =)
Ringo started throwing wristbands with “Peace and Love” engraved on it and even started passing out yummy cupcakes to everyone.
This day just kept getting better and better. Anyway, I know this is a little different from my usual encounters, but I had so much fun meeting other fans and finally seeing a live Beatle right in front of me!!! =D It was definitely an experience I’ll never forget.
My pictures aren’t too great, but hope guys enjoy them! ^_^
