It’s always sad when a television legend passes away. Today we lost one of the most iconic “moms” in television history. Ms. Jean Stapleton passed away today. Jean, as most of you know made television history by playing Edith Bunker in All In The Family. She was in over 200 episodes of the iconic Norman Leer sitcom and touched many hearts through out the years.
Ms. Stapleton also appeared in Pursuit of Happiness, You’ve Got Mail, Michael, and several guest star appearances on top shows.
All in the Family is an amazing series and Ms. Stapleton will be greatly missed. Ace wanted to say a little something as well.

What’s up autograph fanatics! Ace here with some sad news! Today, we lost a wonderful asset to the Autograph community!
Jean Stapleton, beloved by Americans all over due to her portrayal of Edith Bunker, has died at the age of 90 in New York. She played the devoted wife of Archie Bunker in the 1970’s series All in the Family.
Celebrities from all over are mourning her death calling her acting “profound”, “deep”, and “majestic.” She absolutely had a marvelous comedic spin on a very iconic character.
She was offered the role of Mrs. Teevee in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but fortunately declined, in order to film the TV pilot, All in the Family. Thank God she did…
I wrote her a letter with a couple photos, several years back, and fortunately added her to my collection before her passing.
She warmed our hearts and made us laugh. Although she is no longer with us, she will continue to enter homes and enter our hearts for decades to come with every rerun played across the country.
I have to thank her and her family for her work, life, and appreciation to her fans. Everyone at MiketheFanboy.com sends their regards to her family. Rest in Peace Ms. Stapleton.
