Scotty And I Have A Real Goonie Adventure! Meeting Jeff B. Cohen AKA Chunk! 1980’s Awesomeness! Autographs And More!

It’s rare when you can say this, but last night Scotty and I… We had a Goonie adventure!

It all started with a tweet. I was posting The Walking Dead premiere report from Ace and what popped up in my twitter feed? That Jeff B. Cohen AKA Chunk himself was moderating a panel for casting directors.

Now, while I’m not actually working on a Goonies poster, I know Scotty is and my friend Scott has one he’s working on. I thought to myself, this is crazy! A real life Goonie adventure!

A quick phone call to Scotty and he was down for the adventure, I picked up my friend’s poster and grabbed my DVD and was off.

I was supposed to meet up with Scotty at 7:30 but I was late… Pause for the shock of Mike The Fanboy being late for something…

After meeting up for a wonderful dinner at Baja Fresh………. Mmmmmmmmmm…. Salsa…

We went off to wait… Now, here’s the thing… People change so Scotty and I tried to figure out which… Out of all the people leaving was Jeff. We were the only one’s waiting so it’s not like we could ask.

People started trickling out… So, we started to look up the event that was streaming online. Sadly both my phone and Scotty’s phone sucks giant ass. I have my phone it’s a google android and there will be a day when I spike it like a football on the ground because I can’t take how shitty it is any longer.

And then Scotty spots Jeff! He’s walking out, and I look over at Scotty. He’s a little paler than usual, I say to him, “Are you nervous?” Scotty says, “yes, yes I am!” lol…

Jeff comes out, and I notice Scotty’s not making a move, so I stepped in. I said, “Jeff? Would you mind signing a couple things?” Jeff was so nice! He was like sure! He comes on over and I asked him to personalize Scott’s mini poster. Jeff was like, “should I write truffle shuffle power?” I was like, “that would be awesome!”

I then told Jeff that I was getting the poster for my friend in KY and he was like, “You’re a good friend!” Gold star for Mike! Then I asked Jeff to sign my DVD. Jeff was like, “Do you have a silver, this one is kind of dark…” I whipped out my copper pen and Jeff signed the front for me.

Scotty then had his laser disc out, and Jeff signed away. We chatted for a second and Scotty told Jeff how he thought he would never meet him. Jeff was like, “I’m around!” lol…

So kind. I’m so excited I was able to get that poster signed for my friend Scott and that the universe conspired so Scotty and I could have our Goonie adventure! There are not that many times in life when you can legitimately say, “I had a Goonie adventure!”
