San Diego Comic Con Day 5! Sons Of Anarchy! It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia! Under The Dome! Autographs! Swag! And More!
I know what you’re thinking… Comic Con coverage just isn’t going to end. Well… It might not. LOL… When you can pack so much fanboying into such a short amount of time… It takes a bit to decompress. lol…
Today is the final day of San Diego Comic Con and there are still a few cool things happening. One of the biggest things is the Sons Of Anarchy signing… Woo Hoo!
We’re in line, it’s early. Billy Beer got her at the crack of dawn and we joined him later. Suddenly Susan is here as well and we’re just hanging out waiting to get in line. Billy Parked his chair for the long wait.
We are in and make our way to the FOX booth. And now… Now we wait… It’s almost torture sometimes. You wait and wait, get all excited and move like hell… To wait, and wait, and wait…
Finally… I got my my ticket to the signing for Sons of Anarchy! Woo Hoo! I’m really stoked I have to tell you!
Now we run to the other line drawings. I also would like the Under The Dome signing at the CW/CBS Booth. It’s the new Stephen King series.
The line for these drawings are literally down to the marina. I was really ready to give up. It just seemed hopeless and I’m frakkin tired.
Suddenly Susan marked her time by trying to lick James Purfoy on the Following. The funny thing is… None of us had that bad. Suddenly Susan was licking random strangers. I think the guys name was Ryan B. but I’m not sure.
After what seemed like an eternity and a buck of crankiness on my side we finally start moving. I seriously thought that this line was hopeless…
We head up, wrap around the marina and then get to climb the steps where about 50 people cut in front of us in line. Sigh… It happens and I can’t judge, what happens at Comic Con stays at Comic Con.
I run up to the line. Suddenly Susan and Billy Beer headed to the Community signing, I went to Under the Dome.
And what happened? SCORE! I got the ticket! Nice!
The two I wanted today the most I got.
I went back to try and get community, and then I looked at the line and I said to myself… Nope. Not going to even try.
I think this person has become Comic Coned out!
I then had to run back to the hotel to check out, pack up my crap and get back to the con by at least 11:30 a.m.
I’ll spare you the details of me fitting all my crap onto a cart and having the bellhop practically faint at all the crap we were taking back with us.
I ran back with Suddenly Susan and got to the Sons of Anarchy signing!
I did a full recap here, but needless to say… It was awesome! Sigh… One of my highlights for sure!
After going through the sons signing I waited to try and get the It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia signing. The full cast was here including Danny Devito.
That signing started and we were able to get into the stand by line and with the luck of the con Billy Beer and I were able to get in! YAY!
The cast was super nice. I told Charlie Day that I really enjoyed Pacific Rim, and talked to everyone in the cast. The poster looks epic. Danny Devito wasn’t super chatty but was still pretty cool. I love seeing full casts like this.
After that It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia cast, I had to run upstairs for the Under the Dome signing.
Time is ticking away and this signing is my last of the day and the con in general. Sunday is the swag dump day as well where you try and grab as much stuff as possible. Sadly, there wasn’t too much swag this year so I wasn’t sweating missing out.
The signing was running late and I was getting a little impatient. This is the last day and I was beyond exhausted. Plus my feet were throbbing so much, I have blisters on top of my blisters.
Finally we were led down to the convention floor and lined up for the Under The Dome signing. The thing that sucks about the CBS signings is that you really get rushed through and don’t get to talk to anyone for the most part.
The signing started and it looks like the whole cast is here. I wouldn’t really know as I got thrust through the line so fast I barely got to say anything and then was handed a poster at the end. Doh…
Still the poster looks great!
Now, there’s a little time for a swag run. Again, I didn’t get much sadly. The swag has dried up at Comic Con. For those of you who thing there’s all kinds of fun free stuff… That’s not really the cast anymore!
I did pick up some fun exclusives this weekend including the Breaking Bad figure, A Big Bang Theory figure and some Dexter stuff. Pretty damn cool!
And that kids is my convention this year. I think we’re going to have some more quick recaps from Suddenly Susan and more. But I have to say, I had a great con and I want to give a huge shout out to all the awesome people I met and the MTF Family there Suddenly Susan, Billy Beer, The Lovely Erica, The Novel Strumpet, The Other Mike, Russell, Linda, and more!
Here’s to an awesome SDCC 2014!
First off, it’s James PurEfoy and he’s tasty. Secondly, I don’t remember licking any random strangers. I always ask someone’s name first! Billy and I failed at getting Community – the true raffle of the Con and we failed 3 times each. So glad it wasn’t like that for all of the autographs or I’d have been really, really sad. Bummer that Tommy Flanagan and Mark Boone Junior got to the SOA signing late and we missed them. Guess it doesn’t always payoff to be first in line.
great writeup on the 5 days of SDCC…now 365 days to recoup. I wish I could have gone to stand by line for Philly. Yes those raffles vs Warner and Fox are true raffles I think. Not sure how Marvel is though…just never make it down there for that and I wish I did for the ones this year.
