It’s sequel madness!
Disney has just announced that they are putting into development Enchanted 2… That’s right kids the whimsical Amy Adams princess fable is going to be getting a second chapter…
Hired to write the project are David Stem and David N. Weiss who did such classics like Daddy Day Camp, and Smurfs 2. Wow… Just think… Daddy Day CAMP is the sequel to Daddy Day Care… Day care starred Eddie Murphy, Day Camp? Cuba Gooding Jr. Just saying.
Anne Fletcher who did The Proposal is doing this sequel. No word on if any original characters are coming back for this one. I would imagine it would all hinge on Amy Adams returning.
Speaking of Sequels G.I. Joe 3 has hired a writer, Jonathan Lemkin who did Marky Mark’s Shooter. However, Jon Chu who was going to direct has left the project. More than likely because they’ve all sucked ass. Just saying.
Channing Tatum has his agent making sure he didn’t have a sequel clause in his contract.
Roberto Orci who is directing the next Star Trek movie has let loose a little insight on the new film. He was on Geoff Boucher’s podcast, Humans From Earth and said,
“In [Into Darkness] they set out finally where the original series started. The first two films – especially the 2009 [Star Trek] – was an origin story. It was about them coming together. So they weren’t the characters they were in the original series. They were growing into them and that continues on in the second movie. So in this movie they are closer than they are to the original series characters than you have ever seen. They have set off on their five-year mission. So their adventure is going to be in deep space.”
Roberto talked about the creature design as well…
“We have discussed [the challenges of creature design]. The advantage we have is there is new technology available. Even though I am a fan and I know JJ is a fan of as much practical sets and creature design you can do, we can also augment it with the technology that exists today, CGI. So in a way we have a freedom that is a little bit unexplored. I hope to do that in the next Star Trek…The Horta is actually the villain in the next one – no – they are in deep space now, so lets see what’s out there…”
