Showtime’s Emmy Party Michael C. Hall Dexter, Nurse Jackie and More

I have to say, I love all of Showtime’s slate of original programming right now. It seems like every show they have is amazing. Dexter, Nurse Jackie, The United States of Tara, and of course my long time obsession Weeds. Well tonight it the annual Showtime party where the network celebrates all of their Emmy nominations. Last year, I missed Toni Collette by minutes… devastated… so tonight I’m hoping to get her and more!

6:36 p.m. – I hate Sunset blvd. I know it’s shocking, me hating something, traffic, weather, today parking. Parking on Sunset is a horror, and I think anyone will agree with me on that.

6:41 p.m. – I almost didn’t make it today, a few personal issues came up, I threw my back out last night, oh yeah fun times… but since I’m seemingly obsessed with Dexter lately I had to make the trip out to West Hollywood.

6:46 p.m. – I’m here… sigh… so Edie Falco is already in along with David Zayas, and Desmond Harrington. Great, I need David on my OZ and Dexter posters… sigh… Oh well, I guess I’m waiting for the way out!

6:51 p.m. – Oh, James Remar from Dexter is pulling up… he’s very nice and comes right over. I got him on my Dexter poster I started with Michael on the set.

6:53 p.m. – Anna Deavere Smith from Nurse Jackie just got here. I got her on my Nurse Jackie poster and my Nurse Jackie insert. Thankfully, I already have Edie Falco on all my stuff. She can be so tough. Grumble.

6:57 p.m. – It’s always fun at events like this cause so many people are arriving and usually they are super cool. For some reason Showtime shows are seemingly very friendly. No Toni Collette though, not yet…

7:02 p.m. – Stephen Wallem and Merritt Weaver just walked up together. Stephen was more than happy to sign; Merrit kind of hid towards the back but then came over when we called her out.

7:05 p.m. – I know it’s not like Angelina Jolie is here or anything like that, but I have to tell you sometimes it’s harder to get the smaller supporting people then the larger names. And if you love a show getting the supporting people is a real kick.

7:08 p.m. – Lauren Velez just arrived. She comes right on over. I got her on my poster and I had a bobble head of her as well. Actually Annette gave it to me because she got it free at a Comic Con gift bag giveaway thing.

7:11 p.m. – Another car is pulling up… I can’t really tell who’s in it… Holy crap its Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter! I have my Dexter poster at the ready and my action figure as well. Michael and Jennifer come right over. Michael comes to our side fist, he signs a bunch and then is about to sign my poster and says, “To Mike or Michael?” And I was like, “Oh to Michael that would be cool.” At this point my oblivious to him knowing my name… I think he remembered me from when M’Lou and I went to the set! How rad is that! I also have my action figure out for him as well, and he signs that for me too. He did say only one each, but I still got two… Megan got like seven so I don’t feel that bad. Lol…

7:13 p.m. – Jennifer now makes her way over to us, and I got her on my poster and my season 2 ad/insert. She was the last one I needed on the insert so that was cool to finish! Whoo hoo! Now I have that ad done, and a DVD cover done as well.

7:18 p.m. – oh, there’s someone else, man I love parties like this, because there isn’t much of a lull… It’s… It’s… C.S. Lee… I really don’t have anything for him, but he comes over and signs, and signs away… he’s always been such a nice guy.

7:22 p.m. – Oh my lord, the hotel where the party is, well… let’s just say, and I’m going to put this plainly, two chunky bodybuilder wannabees are standing in the window and flexing for each other. I mean right next to the window, I think they are going to just start going at it… It’s bizarre! Lol… Only in Hollywood!

7:25 p.m. – I’m pointing them out to M’Lou and she’s trying to get a shot of them…

7:31 p.m. – We’re just waiting on a few names now… We just heard Toni Collette cancelled… I’m so bummed… sigh… oh well… I’ll get her again.

7:34 p.m. – Rosemarie DeWitt just showed up… She is so nice and signed and took pics with me, and I think Megan got a couple as well.

7:39 p.m. – Hunter Parrish showed up. Dammit and of course I was stupid and didn’t bring my Weeds poster with me… sigh… Whatever…

7:41 p.m. – Grumble…

7:43 p.m. – I just heard John Lithgow is supposed to be here… I have loved John since before 3rd Rock from the Sun. He’s so interesting; everything he does is just fabulous… God, I really hope this is true…

7:52 p.m. – A car is pulling up… sure enough its John Lithgow everyone is yelling for him. He waves and motions he will sign after.

8:01 p.m. – Yep, we’re in it for the long haul! Lol…

8:14 p.m. – I’m going under the assumption that a lot of names that were supposed to be here are not coming…

8:22 p.m. – Oh there’s Brandon Routh, or Roth… he’s married to Courtney Ford who played John Lithgow’s daughter on the show. They are both really nice and come over to sign.

8:35 p.m. –Okay, well… I’m going to assume no Julie Benz… lol… That’s okay I know she’ll be out and about promoting her new show, so that’s cool. Edie Falco has not left yet…

8:43 p.m. – Some people are starting to take off… It’s thinning down the heard. Lol… I will say everyone is well behaved and polite and it’s not like the pushy dealers, most people here are real fans, which is nice.

8:56 p.m. – Oh, I see a large man… Its John Lithgow… he’s leaving… Everyone calls for him and he comes over and signs. He does not want to do pictures but is more than happy to sign for everyone. Such a cool Guy, but now that I’ve seen season 4 of Dexter, I’m a little creeped out by him, lol… I mean, he’s the trinity killer after all! Shiver!

9:01 p.m. – David Zayas is leaving, I’m holding up my Oz poster and he comes right on over to me. He says, “I escaped this place a long time ago, lol, this is old school!” He also signs my Dexter poster; David is cool as hell…. Always such a nice guy.

9:14 p.m. – Paul Schulze, who is the guy Edie Falco is having an affair with on Nurse Jackie just walked out the door. Megan and I are calling him over and he’s like sure. Walks right on up, and signs for us. So easy… lol… Again it’s so fun to do events like this…

9:16 p.m. – Paul told us Edie left… uh oh….

9:21 p.m. – Here’s Dominic Fumusa… Megan already has him, but we still call him over and he signs a couple things for me. Very cool.

9:35 p.m. – And finally, out comes Eve Best who I love! She comes over after Megan and I yell for her. She signs a couple things and does a pic with me as well… I mean, it’s always such a treat when you get a couple casts of shows you love that are this nice…

9:43 p.m. – Megan just made a good spot. It’s Liz Brixius who is one of the creators of the show. We call out for her, and finally when her car comes she walks over to sign for us. We thank her, and she then thanks us in return. Again, you couldn’t ask for a better night… Well, if Julie Benz and Edie Falco showed up and signed lol then it would have been better but still all in all it was a fun night. Although M’Lou said that Julie Benz and Ryan Kwanten are going to drive her crazy. That M’Lou can be quite impatient! Lol…
