Sons of Anarchy…

I have to tell you, it’s one of the best shows on television. Seriously, I think I’m late to the party, but I just binged watched seasons 1-5 again and I just love it. There has been a draught of events in Los Angeles lately, it’s been sucking as you’ve probably been able to tell.

So, when I saw the Sons of Anarchy premiere, I was stoked. Stoked! Then they moved the venue. Ugh… That’s not a good sign. The first venue was great and then the new venue… Not so great.

Billy was holding me a spot and I headed over. It wasn’t that crowded honestly, but there was a huge space blocked off because of the movie theater… Sigh…

Billy Beer was living up to his namesake and was six beers in. God Bless him. LOL…

I have to tell you, I have a bunch of promo stuff, press kits, mini posters, etc… I keep hearing how nice the cast is, so I’m hoping for the best. It’s a half street closure so it should be pretty good.

I just had lunch with Frank, who is awesome! Ah… Baja Fresh goodness. It’s damn hot, can I just tell you.

Thankfully, Ace is here bundled up to protect him from the suns rays. The best thing about Ace is that he is consistent. It’s 100 degrees outside and he still has his black hoodie and a bag of 8×12 photos. As you might have also noticed, Ace is on MTF sabbatical, but thankfully with his busy school schedule he can carve out a day for Sons of Anarchy.

He loves that stuff.

Finally, that huge spot in front of the theater opened up and everyone bum rushed it. Billy, Frank, Colin and I make it into the spot. It’s not bad. So.. Cool…

There is a van driving by with a spray painted graffiti polar bear on the side. I love style… Ridin’ with the homies…

The carpet is very simple but one of the bikes are there which is cool.

It looks like things about about to get underway. Five hours killed! Nice!

There’s out first arrival… It’s… It’s… Mark Boone Junior! Everyone yells for him, and he hesitates but does come over.

Theo Rossi is here as well now!

Sadly, Mark Boone Junior is about a barricade away from us and goes the other way… Dammit!

He is signing a lot… Finally Theo Rossi comes over and says, “I’m only taking photos.”

Ummmmm Wha? He stays in our area for a while but will not sign, he will only do photos. WTF!

He then runs back to the carpet.

Mark Boone Junior is done and even though we plead… Nadda.

Tommy Flanagan just arrived and went right to the carpet. Damn… Okay… What is going on man?

Shit… Theo Rossi is coming back over and signing a little bit and then…

Then Charlie Hunnam arrives! We yell and yell and yell.. Then the chanting starts. And still, Charlie Hunnam doesn’t even look over… There’s chanting for God sakes!

I thought he was super nice so… I’m a little taken aback. I know last year at the SOA premiere he was really nice, man…

And then he heads to the carpet. Frank was in the fan pit and apparently Charlie took two photos and then said, “I’ll be back. I promise.” Guess what… He wasn’t back.

Maggie Siff is here and she waves and heads to the carpet.

So far, this premiere is sucking. I’m literally 0 for what five…

Michael Ornstein is here and is signing for the barricade.

Today, representing SOA… Michael Ornstein. lol… So so so so so nice.

And… that’s all I got. LOL…. Ron Perlman arrived… Nadda…

Katey Sagal arrived and said, “I’ll do it later.”

So, Billy and I ran around to the end of the carpet. It was a total cluster fuck. Total…. But here we were waiting.

Tommy Flanagan is at the end of the carpet and signs. I got him on my press book and my mini poster as well. David Labrava signed as well and handed out presigned headshots to people as well. That reminds me of the Dark Skies premiere. lol…

Mark Boone Junior is signing intermittently but again, I don’t get anything. Kim Coates is heading in and doesn’t even look over. Man…

Maggie Siff is about to head in and comes over to sign. I hear Maggie is the hardest in the cast, but she’s really nice tonight. She keeps saying… I don’t have a pen. Finally she takes my pen and signs my press book and my mini poster as well. Then she says, “Who’s pen is this?” I just tell her to keep it, and she says, “Are you sure?” I’m like yes, go ahead! lol… I love it when celebrities are so concerned with the Sharpies.

Katey Sagal heads in and says, “I’ll sign later.” Again with the later. Ron Perlman gives us a wave.

I got one Theo Rossi on my mini poster…

Charlie Hunnam is leaving and signs randomly. He signs four and then skips down a barricade and then signs another four and then skips down a barricade and a half. Sigh… Clearly, I didn’t get him…

So now what? After some debate, we wait for the screening to end, but this venue is rough because people can leave a bunch of different ways.

After scoping out the scene Billy and I stayed near the barricade. Who the hell knows at this point.

As the screening breaks people file out. I did get a few people like, Dayton Callie, Jeff Kober (China Beach!), Christopher Douglas Reed and Tommy Flanagan left this way but I already had him on my two pieces.

So, I was packing it in. I walked with Billy to the after party but honestly… I want to go home. I’m tired, sticky, gross and yeah… It was a long long day.

I said good bye to Billy and then walking to my car I ran into Garrick and Frank. I chatted with them for a hot second and then we saw Charlie Hunnam leaving the party! We yelled for him and he came over to the five of us. He signed my pressbook and then… It was nuts. People ran from around the corner and five turned into 30. Still Charlie was cool, even stopping for a second and telling people to settle down. And that was it.

I called it a night and headed out.

It was a long rough night/day. I can’t say I had a good time, I really wanted to walk away with a joyous feeling but I didn’t. I’m glad I did get Charlie cause I’ve been a fan of his in particular for a while now. But the thing is… It shouldn’t have been this hard to get everyone. It should have been fun and easy.

Let me put it in context. It was easier to get Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer to come over to sign for fans with the exact same set up in the exact same location. You know what I mean…

I’m a tad disappointed, but still very thankful for what I got. I like getting some of the smaller people you never see when it’s a show I love, so I’m happy about that!

And props to Billy Beer for holding down the fort before I got there!
