Spartacus: Vengeance World Premiere! With Liam McIntyre! Katrina Law! Manu Bennett! Viva Bianca! Peter Mensah! Cynthia Addai-Robinson! Nick Tarabay! Ellen Hollman! and More!

“I Am Spartacus!” You know, I have to tell you, one of my favorite guilty pleasures of the past year or so was Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Now, I’ve only seen a couple episodes of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena but I just got the DVD set for Christmas so I’m catching up.

Anyway, with the sad passing of Andy Whitfield, Starz was forced to recast the lead actor and have rebooted Spartacus for this season. Liam McIntyre is the new Spartacus and hopefully he can pull off a very hard thing, replacing the departed lead of a hit show.

Today is the world premiere of Spartacus: Vengeance and with my sickness and infirmity I’m going to try and get though it. This shouldn’t be a “huge” event so we shall see. The Lovely Erica is joining me so God willing we’ll be successful!

4:23 p.m. – I just arrived. The set up is odd… I mean like really odd. They have the photographer near the street and a fan pit in the middle but no one is there. Hmm…

4:28 p.m. – Okay, so I have been directed to a large line of 200 people who have tickets to get in to the event. Ugh… No one has any idea what is going on.

4:36 p.m. – Still… No one has any idea what’s happening and there’s no one to ask… sigh…

4:46 p.m. – Okay, now we find out that this line is going into the fan pen and then going inside. So, the few of us here who don’t have tickets are screwed!

5:02 p.m. – So the few of us that don’t have the tickets we went to the other side. Security are really nice. They are not the usual security and tell us we can just stay here.

5:11 p.m. – Okay, well… It looks like we have secured our spot! Erica and I are chatting and just killing some time…

5:32 p.m. – Such a random set up. There are about 5 or 6 collector’s here now…

5:41 p.m. – Arrivals are at six. I brought my Spartacus: Vengeance mini poster, and I have a rare press kit with a replica knife and book as well.

5:48 p.m. – Oh, there’s an arrival, it’s the creator of Spartacus, Steven S. DeKnight

5:50 p.m. – We tried calling him but alas it was too late…

5:54 p.m. – Oh… Oh… another car.. It’s Manu Bennett who plays Crixus. We call him over and he is literally signing his life away… I mean ultra nice…

He’s even writing his character name under his signature… I was able to get Manu on my poster and my book as well. By far one of the nicest celebs every.

5:57 p.m. – There’s another car, and it’s… Holy crap it’s Spartacus himself Liam McIntyre! He’s posing with Manu and they are hugging…

Then we keep calling for Liam.

5:59 p.m. – Liam comes over and starts signing.

They are trying to make sure it’s one each and Liam personalizes EVERYTHING…. Now, I hate when I get a cast piece personalized but what can you do right?

At the same time Cynthia Addai-Robinson is here signing as well… It’s crazy!

6:01 p.m. – Liam is hyper nice… He has the best eyes, I’m just saying…

He signs my poster to Mike and then I show him the knife and I ask him to sign it. He keeps looking at, clearly he has never seen it, and he keeps turning it around. I ask him to sign it and he does..

6:03 p.m. – It looks pretty bad ass… I love that knife!

6:06 p.m. – Another arrival.. It’s Katrina Law… She comes right on over and signs and signs…

I got her on my poster and on my book as well… She looks amazing… Like damn!

6:09 p.m. – Dan Feuerriegel is arriving now, and comes over and signs his life away…

This cast is super nice so far. I was able to get Dan on my poster and my book.

6:12 p.m. – Nick Tarabay has arrived and is taking his time coming over but runs on over to sign.

I was able to get Nick on both of my cast pieces as well. He’s very nice.

It’s so rare to see some of these guys because the show films I think in New Zealand so they are not in Los Angeles that much!

6:16 p.m. – Next arrival is…. Viva Bianca. Oh lord, everyone is going crazy for Viva! Some more dealers have joined us… Ugh… Viva is very nice though and trying to sign one for everyone so no one is forgotten. It’s pretty fast though, and I couldn’t even snap a photo.

6:20 p.m. – Lucy Lawless is here and… Wow, nothing. Not even a wave. That’s pretty low…

6:24 p.m. – Peter Mensah has arrived and he doesn’t wave or anything either… Bummer.

6:31 p.m. – Ellen Hollman is here and is coming over to sign.

The funny thing is, Ellen is not really signing but writing her character name on everything. LOL… I think that’s kind of funny though… What can you do? She’s super nice and is just signing her life away…

6:35 p.m. – I think that’s pretty much it for arrivals, everyone showed up a bit early. Erica and I are heading over to the other side of the carpet now.

6:38 p.m. – Holy crap, there’s Peter Mensah! He’s signing for the other fan pit. Erica and I run over and get him to sign all of our stuff before he heads in.

We were told that Lucy Lawless signed for everyone here minutes before we arrived. Grrrr… Ah well. What can you do right?

6:40 p.m. – I spy Manu Bennett talking to fans so I snapped a quick photo with him. The nicest guy ever!

So, that’s about all kids. An odd night to be sure, but it was pretty successful. I could probably stick around to try and get Lucy but I’m tired and still not 100%.
