Spartacus: War Of The Damned Premiere! With Liam McIntyre! John Hannah! Lucy Lawless! Manu Bennett! Katrina Law! Christian Antidormi! Dan Feuerriegel! Steven S. Deknight! Autographs! Photos! Medieval Amazement!

I am Sparta! I have to do that every time I talk about Gerard Butler or Spartacus. Love it! Billy Beer headed out to the Spartacus: War of the Damned premiere. It was downtown Los Angeles and pretty much the entire cast came over to greet the fans!

Welcome back to Billy Beer’s Barstool.  Today we are headed out for the Premiere of the last season of Spartacus… Spartacus: War of the Damned.  What’s cool about this premiere, is they actually invited a number of the cast members who have previously been killed off, or are no longer on the show.  So it’s kind of a best of Premiere.  This is the main reason I’m here.  I actually don’t watch the show that much, but I am a big Lucy Lawless fan, and the only auto I got from her I gave to my sister for Christmas cause she’s an even bigger fan. 

(Editor’s Note: Wait… Billy, you’re sister is a fan of something! What! Tell me more! M-)

I’m all set to go with my Spartans T-Shirt and sweatshirt…….what?……Spartans and Spartacus are two different things?…….Crap!  Oh well, let the adventures begin.

When I get to the premiere, I’m still not sure what kind of set up there’s going to be.  We get there early, cause I guess last year they had a fan pit area.  Either way, we should still get a good spot, there are only a few people there.  As we’re standing across the street, someone who looked like an organizer was telling us that we should line up in the area at the end of the carpet, and that was going to be where the fan pit was.  After we do that, security tells us we have to line up around the building or across the street, and there was no fan pit.  This angered a few of the fans which led to a few angry tweets to Starz. 

While we were standing across the street trying to figure out what to do, C.B. sees Liam McIntyre.  We go bolting across the street Frogger style, to the barricade where we started off.  We’re not sure what he’s doing here so early, but we don’t hesitate to call him over.  After a few minutes, he finally makes his way over to us.  I guess they are doing a podcast for the east coast viewers, so a number of the cast members are arriving early, and then they are going to hit the red carpet.  Liam is crazy nice, and all smiles. 

There were only about 10-15 of us, and he was signing everything we had, and taking pictures with everyone. 

It’s kinda weird getting the main star of the show 2 hours before the premiere.  I literally have nothing left for him to sign.

As time was getting closer to the podcast, more cast members kept showing up.  Most of the publicists were rushing the actors in.  The only other person to come over was Christian Antidormi, who plays Tiberius.  I got him to sign my cast piece, and then he was on his way. 

After our mad rush for Liam, they moved us back to near the end of the red carpet, but not as close as we would have liked.  It’s still better than standing across the street and hoping the risk avoiding traffic.

MONTAGE!!!!

The Premiere is finally starting.  The first to go on the red carpet is Manu Bennett, Crixus.  Again, weird to see the main people first.  When he’s done with all his pictures and interviews, he comes right on over.  This is a good sign!  I think Starz likes the interaction with the fans which is fine by me!!!  Manu is the man. 

He signs and signs and signs, and then he finally asks if everyone got one.  After that he took pictures with whoever wanted pictures. 

Then he went back to signing.  WOW!  Manu, you are the Man!

Next to come over was the Creator Steven S Deknight, and (Lugo)  I have them both sign my cast piece.

Dan Feuerriegel (Agron) is the next to come over.  Now here’s something that was funny.  Dan has some sexy shots of himself out there.  Like ones with barely any clothes.  A lot of times actors or actresses won’t sign those photos.  I kinda understand, but you were the one who posed for them.  Dan was asked if he would sign one of those photos, and he laughed and was more than happy to do it, basically saying well I did pose for them. 

He too was great with the fans signing and posing.  The cool thing about this cast, is they seem to be enjoying themselves with the fans, and not acting like it’s a job for them to come over.

He is followed by Simon Merrelis (Crassus), who goes down the line quickly and signs for everyone.

What sucks, is now most of the cast is here, so some are getting interviewed, others are taking pictures.  So when someone comes over, we might be missing other people.  I think we might have missed a person or two.

After a whole lot of yelling, we finally get the attention of Lucy.  She hesitates a little, and then finally makes a quick jog to us. 

She is on a mission to see how many she can do in the shortest amount of time.  It’s like she just drank more Monsters than Mike drinks Coke Zero’s in a day. 

(Editor’s Note: Oh man… That’s a lot of Monsters! M-)

graph graph, graph, graph……  I got my 2 things done quite quickly, but I was really hoping to get a picture.  She’s heading back to the carpet, and I yell to her I have my camera ready as she passes me.  She stops super quick and I hit my button.  It’ didn’t flash, but she wasn’t waiting any longer. I go back and look at the picture.  I have no idea what happened, but I end up with kind of a cool picture.

OK, I got what I wanted, now we’re in bonus time.  Bring on the ladies of the show!

Katrina Law (Mira), who was killed off the season before, comes over next looking really cute! 

She goes down the line signing and taking pictures with everyone.

It’s about time for the show to start.  We finally see Ellen Hollman (Saxa) the new girl on the show.  We yell, and she comes running over. 

She signs as quick as she can for everyone, and takes as many pictures that she can.  I literally get the last picture with her as she being grabbed to go inside.
 

Can Billy Get Any Happier?

Pretty good night, but there’s still a few people we didn’t get, or didn’t come over. The two big names I’m still going for is Dustin Clare and Cynthia Addai-Robinson, so we decide to wait for exits. Now we have to wait across the street and hope they come across.

We yell, but not many people are coming over. Finally we see a new face. It’s John Hannah (Batiatus)! He comes running over to us and signs and takes a couple pictures. So there is hope.

We finally see Dustin.  He gives us a wave, but has no intentions on coming over.  BOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
 

The crowd from the show is starting to bet a little too big.  Now everyone is just getting rushed into their SUVs.  I see Cynthia, but it didn’t look good, and it wasn’t.  she jumps in and leaves.  This is over.  I found out later that Cynthia did sign at the after party, but Dustin remained being a party pooper.

Oh well, I gotta go, it’s Happy Hour somewhere!
