Super 8 Cast Q and A Screening Report With Elle Fanning! Ryan Lee! Gabriel Basso! and a Diss From JJ Abrams! Doh…

Today I am out and about, but I am not alone, yes, my buddy Theo is joining me. Actually, he’s been with me all week! I’m so going to miss him when he’s gone. Man oh man… Ah well… Sadness… For those of you not in the know, Theo is an adorable French Bulldog that I sit for sometimes. He’s my buddy…

Anyway, today is a screening of Super 8 that has been billed as having a “Q and A with JJ Abrams and cast.” Who will be the cast present? Who knows? But with awards season heating up, I figured I would check it out since these kids will probably not be out and about much once the movie buzz has died down.

Hopefully, it will be a short night and Theo will be okay. I’m usually not one for taking animals out fanboying but what can you do right?

7:45 p.m. – I just arrived to the theatre. Scotty is already here. I like to show up early since I was burned a couple times in the past having shown up too late. Doh! There are only a couple of us right now.

7:53 p.m. – If it wasn’t for the dog and the fact that by the time I heard of this event it sold out, I would have just bought a ticket. Alas… I couldn’t.

8:04 p.m. – I just saw Super 8 on DVD before the holidays and loved it. I would have gone to the premiere like CB but there was another event happening that day. Grumble…

8:11 p.m. – It’s a tad chilly. Scotty told me it was cold but I didn’t know. Poor Theo is already bored, lol…

8:15 p.m. – Although I don’t know why because everyone that walks by is giving him so much attention. And he laps it up… lol… He does love attention!

8:24 p.m. – People that walk by are now showing me pictures of their dogs after they pet Theo. you know, if you want people to talk to you, get an adorable French Bulldog. Man, they get attention! lol…

8:39 p.m. – Some people are now telling me that only a couple of the kids in the movie are here. I’m hoping Elle Fanning is here but I doubt it. I have a W Magazine for her and a mini movie poster as well.

9:03 p.m. – Theo is a tad rambunctious… Not that I blame him, he’s a dog for God sakes!

9:15 p.m. – Oh, there’s a car… It’s Elle Fanning! I’m still surprised she’s here. There are about 10 of us here right now. We ask her to sign, and she is super nice. Like, shockingly nice!

She is doing a couple each and also photos. She is more than happy to sign my Super 8 mini poster and my W Magazine with Dakota as well.

I also got a quick photo with her before she heads inside.

9:19 p.m. – Theo was so well behaved during all that randomness. I’m super proud of him!

9:22 p.m. – It’s getting a tad chilly man… At least Theo has a built in coat!

9:32 p.m. – Theo keeps staring at this clothing stores window. It’s like he’s a black friday shopper going, “open, open, open…” lol…

9:45 p.m. – No one else from the movie is here yet… sigh…

10:02 p.m. – Oh, there’s Gabriel Basso he is on The Big C and also played MArtin in Super 8.

10:03 p.m. – He’s really nice but in a hurry so he signs really fast. JJ Abrams went in the back. Doh!

10:06 p.m. – Ryan Lee just ran in as well, but since he was late he said he would sign after.

10:09 p.m. – The q and a is going on, I think and we’re waiting now… Sigh…

10:11 p.m. – Poor Theo is getting tried and so am I, lol…

10:23 p.m. – Man, Oh, I see people leaving out of the front so it looks like the q and a is over. No one from the cast is leaving yet…

10:33 p.m. – Someone just snuck in and said that the cast is signing up a storm inside… Doh! I hope this doesn’t mean we’re going to get the shaft from JJ Abrams. Not that I’ve never met the guy, but you know… It would be nice to get him again!

10:43 p.m. – Elle Fanning and Gabriel just left…

10:44 p.m. – Ryan Lee is leaving and signs for everyone… He has a nice signature!

10:51 p.m. – They pulled the car right up to the door. There’s JJ and he literally darts inside the car. DOH!

Well, it was a long night, and relatively okay. It wasn’t the time of my life, but I’m glad I was able to meet Elle Fanning and got a couple of the kids. I can get JJ another time as he is usually super awesome.

Even Theo crashes in the car on the way home!
