It’s Throwback Thursday and what better way to commemorate this Thursday than with none other than Tom Cruise! How can you not love Tom Cruise? One of the nicest guys out there for sure! He spends so much time with fans, it’s a little crazy!
Check out this weeks Throwback Thursday below!
Madness, heat, sweat and craziness… All par for the course when it comes to an A-List superstar like Tom Cruise. It seems like everyone was out to meet Mr. Risky Business. Tom Cruise hasn’t been out since Oblivion and he’s one of my favorites. I’ve been a fan since Losin’ It and have followed his career for a long long time.
There’s nothing like Risky Business.
Tom is out promoting the release of Edge of Tomorrow and is making a rather unexpected stop in Los Angeles. I didn’t expect Tom Cruise to be in Los Angeles so it was a nice treat. I have so much stuff for Tom Cruise, vintage magazines, mini posters, one sheets, it’s madness. But the man has been in so many frakkin’ amazing movies. It’s crazy.
I headed out earlier than usual and found a pretty decent amount of people here. I called Scotty and he headed over. No one knew where to stand, some said on one side, some said the other. Pinky wanted updates, Scott wanted updates. it was a tad cray cray!
I apologize right now, I will never type cray cray again.
Scotty stayed in one spot, I stayed in another and we teamed up. The Other Mike ditched us for another spot up front. LOL, I’m kidding. XXX Will, Paul, Ace, Chris, Little Ace… Yep, everyone was here!
But once everyone settled in, it was easier. The heat was definitely rough, but we all persisted. Scotty has a one sheet for Interview with a Vampire, I have.. Sooooooo Sooooo much.
Now, DVD Dave who keeps claiming he’s going to be doing a column for us here at MTF but as of yet, I haven’t seen anything. Grrrrrrr…. 😉
Finally, the barricades are up, we’re sort of settled in and all is well with the world.
Tom Cruise arrives and he looks amazing like usual.
He waves, so I think that’s a good sign. Now, Tom is always nice to the fans so I’m hoping today will be no exception.
DVD Dave was chatting with us and showing us some things on his phone. Dave like usual pics.
Pinky and Keith Coogan arrived looking quite dapper. Like Ace would say, “Snazzy!”
Alyssa Milano is also on the show today, she arrived but didn’t come over.
Then, we continue to wait a bit.
It’s actually not bad of a wait once the sun stops.
Then… Out comes Tom Cruise, no hesitation, we don’t even need to yell, he comes right on over with a smile on his face.
And here’s where I gush a little bit. The man is one of the kindest people… You want to hang out with the guy, seriously.
He talks to everyone one on one and signs whatever you have. I mean… I really can’t go on enough. The crazy thing is that it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Everyone was in awe. Tom smiled away signing and taking pics down the line. I mean cordial isn’t even the word. There’s a reason he was #1 on last years most fan friendly list. He’s just amazing.
Once he got closer to me, Tom signed my Minority Report mini poster as well as my W magazine cover as well. I was able to get a photo with him as well and he signed my Rolling Stone magazine cover. I told Tom, what a huge fan of his I was, since I saw Losin’ It. It was a very surreal experience. Tom Cruise is just such an amazing guy.
Then he signed all the way down the line, just enjoying himself. So many people should take a tip from Maverick. he went all the way down the barricade and even when the line curved without a barricade he signed for them as well.
It did get a little crazy since there wasn’t a barricade and people started getting a little crazy. Which is a little too bad, but I’m telling you… Tom Cruise is an amazing class act. I couldn’t even go on enough, the man is just one of the coolest people ever.
Impressed isn’t even the word for it.
Until next time kids…
