Tron Legacy’s Jeff Bridges, Helen Mirren and Paul Bettany Sign for Fans!

I’m off, and I’m sure I will be bitching a lot today. You see the Tron Legacy insanity is starting and today none other than Oscar winner Jeff Bridges is going to be doing a talk show taping. Sigh… It’s going to be crazy. Also on the show…. Oh yeah I didn’t mention this, is Dame Helen Mirren, and Paul Bettany… sigh… insanity!

4:16 p.m. – I just arrived… there are already like 15 people here… ugh… It’s just sometimes not fun, lol… Ah well. I need Jeff Bridges on so much stuff… I mean Crazy Heart, Big Lebowski, Tron Legacy, True Grit, the list goes on and on and on… and I have never met the man, so… Sigh…

4:22 p.m. – Even more people are arriving. I have my Tron Legacy poster I started at the Tron Pop up Shop, and I want… nay… need him on it… Wow… when can you really say “nay” anymore…? Helen Mirren is rubbing off on me! Lol…

4:45 p.m. – Scotty just arrived. He has this really cool D-23 magazine with Tron Legacy on the cover… It’s not as cool as my light up Identity Disc but still cool. And yes, I need to get the Identity Disc signed… It’s so cool!

4:52 p.m. – It’s like I’m twelve with this damn disc… sigh… But it lights up and makes noise. And even has a stand… so cool… This would go great with my Big Lebowski commemorative bowling ball DVD set… Which I’m also trying to get signed… lol…

4:56 p.m. – I’m spelling disaster for tonight… About 12 more dealers showed up… Sigh…

5:03 p.m. – A giant blue truck just pulled up… Man… It could block the whole entrance…. Sigh…

5:05 p.m. – Oh it moved… yay!

5:07 p.m. – Crazy times! The barricade is going up… Fight for position… This is where friends become enemies, and enemies get smited… Or is it smoted… I really want to insult people in old English in Helen Mirren’s honor.

5:16 p.m. – I have my Gosford Park DVD for Helen Mirren, but one of the other collector’s here, Darryl said he would help me with Jeff Bridges, and so I said I would help him with Helen Mirren. He only has two… I only have 34 for Jeff Bridges… lol…

5:36 p.m. – It’s starting to get a tad chilly… sigh… and I only had a bowl of soup to eat all day.

5:41 p.m. – Pinky’s here. I keep telling her that she can’t yell out at anyone that they suck. I.e. Darius “Hootie” Rucker. I mean she can, it would be fun for me… lol… Then they can come over and tell all of us we can get a life.

5:46 p.m. – Oh shit… The door is opening… Yep, it’s Jeff Bridges! He’s coming in… Everyone is going crazy, and he turned to tell us he will sign on his way out because he’s running late.

5:52 p.m. – Okay, well there goes that. Still I think he’ll sign on the way out… Ah well….

6:04 p.m. – Someone else is arriving… Everyone yells out for Helen Mirren, and it looks like that’s her…

6:05 p.m. – Oh, that’s Paul Bettany… lol… Everyone called him Helen Mirren. Oh God… lol… They did call him Paul as he walked in the door, but at that point… lol…

6:15 p.m. – God, I’m in the second row and the dude in front of me is smoking… Good lord…

6:22 p.m. – Thankfully most of the people around me are pretty cool.

6:43 p.m. – Wow, Helen Mirren isn’t here yet. I’m a little surprised…

6:56 p.m. – I think the show might have started… But I don’t know it’s hard to tell. Sigh…

7:06 p.m. – Oh, there’s the door… it’s Helen Mirren! There’s no chance she is going to stop now…She’s running too late…

7:07 p.m. – Helen is so nice though… She waves and says she would sign after. She really was running late, lol…

7:15 p.m. – People really are in a constant state of waiting… Jeff Bridges can come out at any time and we have to be prepared… Especially with 20 dealers behind you trying to jack you. Ugh…

7:28 p.m. – Constant state of readiness… lol… it’s tiring…

7:38 p.m. – Oh… Oh… Shit, it’s Jeff Bridges… Darryl has my two posters… I have my identity disc… It’s go time!

7:39 p.m. – He’s walking to the gate, he’s now talking… Shit…

7:40 p.m. – Oh, he’s coming over. Dammit he’s starting on the other end… with a black pen! Shit I need silver…

7:41 p.m. – Jeff says he will do everything in black and then switch to silver and go back down the line.

7:43 p.m. – Jeff Bridges signs so much, but not where I am. He signs for the other end, and then comes over to us. Darryl got him on both of my posters right away. And me… I got nothing…

7:45 p.m. – Jeff Bridges finally switches to silver and keeps missing me… He misses the BLUE GLOWING DISC, the poster, everything I have… He even misses Scotty’s magazine. I run around the other side and still nothing… It was chaos…

7:51 p.m. – I am beyond bummed. Scotty is beyond bummed…

7:56 p.m. – Thank God for Darryl… I mean if it wasn’t for him, I would have been totally shut out. (thanks again Darryl!)

8:13 p.m. – Scotty is sad… Ah well… He got shut out of Angelina Jolie, and now Jeff Bridges… lol… He’s a bad omen dammit! No just kidding…

8:22 p.m. – Something is going down… I think…

8:26 p.m. – Helen Mirren is coming out… I mean coming out the door, that sounded a tad provocative… lol…

8:28 p.m. – Helen Mirren comes right over and starts signing. I take Darryl’s photo and have it out for her. She signs it right away, and then I go for my DVD. The least I can do is get Darryl’s signed for him. I mean hello!

8:30 p.m. – I run over to the other side and just as Helen starts to leave she signs my Gosford Park DVD. Yay!

8:31 p.m. – Helen Mirren is so nice! She signs and greets people. I mean I am very impressed with how fan friendly she is. I didn’t know what to expect but now I know she’s awesome! Rock on Helen Mirren!

8:35 p.m. – Whew… Okay, so… Good… That’s a big one to get; I mean it’s very cool.

8:39 p.m. – Oh, wow… Paul Bettany is walking out… He is just walking on over. He is signing up a storm and again is super friendly and nice… I have my Master and Commander poster for him. I really liked that movie, and I just heard from Russell Crowe… lol… Like he just called me… lol… But he said in an interview he wants to do a sequel to the movie. Anyway, Paul comes over and is just damn friendly.

He talked about the movie a bit and I got a picture with him. All in all, it was a good night. I mean I just am so bummed about Jeff Bridges though… Sigh… Well… There will always be other times. Right? Lol…
