TTM Tues! Jeremy’s Tips On Writing Via Venue! Plus Addresses! Successes And More!

Hey autograph fans! Here is an article I wrote back in 2019 regarding collecting autographs via venue. With filming and live events starting to return, I thought this would be a timely article to re-bring up. Check out the end with NEW Via Venue addresses to try!

It was 1986. June to be exact, and school was out for summer (cue the Alice Cooper song. Btw- I wonder if he is good about signing ttm? In person? If anyone knows, lmk.), and that could only mean two things; riding bikes all day, and going to the movies. 1986 was a rad year for movies.. We had “Ferris Bueller’s Day off”, “Aliens”, “Stand By Me”, and the one I had waited all year for…”Karate Kid 2”. The movie was good, but it was the title song from Peter Cetera, “The Glory of Love” that I remember most.

After that movie, I started listening to Peter Cetera (and Chicago)- he quickly became one of my favorites, and as I start collecting autographs, he was someone I was hoping to get. Over the years I wrote to him using different addresses but was unsuccessful. It wasn’t until the summer of 2018 that I finally got his autograph by writing to him at a concert venue he was playing at…which leads me into this weeks helpful tip: Sending a request via venue (VV).
I send VV almost exclusively. The success rate is not the best, but when it works, it can be the most rewarding. In addition, getting someone VV (like Cetera) might be the only way to get their autograph through the mail.

Do your research to find out when and where your favorite is playing

Send your letter and photo off so it gets to the venue at least 7-10 working days before the event. I would also suggest contacting the venue ahead of time if you can to ensure they accept and pass on fanmail.

MAKE SURE you include a SASE
Make sure you address the envelope to the celebrity correctly:

Example:
Mr. John Doe
c/o Venue
124 Main Street
Anytown, State 12345
*Please deliver to artist performing on (insert date)*

Ready to try your luck VV? I’ve included some addresses to try.. There are no guarantees but who knows- you might get lucky! Good luck.
