Jack is back! Jack Bauer is back in 24: Live Another Day, but things are different this time. It’s not in “real time!” They’re in the UK! Chloe has a new look! So many changes! What’s NOT different is that 24 will include some great actors including Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones), Stephen Fry, Benjamin Bratt and Yvonne Strahovski. This time, Jack is trying to prevent the assassination of the President of the US.

Elsewhere, the real First Lady of the US will be making a TV appearance on…Nashville?!?!? The episode will focus on a charity event at Ft. Campbell so that’s likely where we’ll see FLOTUS.

Doh! Everything is awesome! The Simpsons go Lego-style in this Sunday’s episode. (Yeah, there’s a Simpsons Lego set for sale…what are the odds?!?!)

The Bates Motel will close for the season, but don’t worry! They’ll be back for more creepy mayhem next season!

Sirens, Resurrection and Tomorrow People will air their finales, not knowing whether they have a second season. Chances are pretty good for Sirens and Resurrection. The jury’s still out on Tomorrow People.

Health check Almost Human almost made it! Sadness, but Fox pulled the plug on Almost Human to make room for a very full slate of new shows for the fall. A shame since that was the show that most fans were voting to renew. But Fox has a bunch of high potential new shows for the fall so Almost Human will be no more. RIP Almost Human!

Crystal Ball – Cable edition! As promised, here’s a look at shows we’ll be seeing in the near future…

12 MONKEYS (Syfy) – Based on the film about a time traveler (Aaron Stanford) who heads back in time to stop a virus that wipes out the human race.

ASCENSION (Syfy) – Starring Tricia Helfer, this show has some familiar themes for the Battlestar Galactica actress: a group of humans aboard a large ship are headed into deep space to colonize and set down roots. There’s trouble on the ship when someone dies and the true mission of the voyage becomes unclear.

BLUNT TALK (Starz) – Patrick Stewart is returning to TV! This time, we’ll be using his comedy chops as he tries to become the darling of the cable news world. I’m sure he’ll make it so…

THE COMEDIANS (FX) – Billy Crystal is back on TV! Writer, producer and star, Billy plays a comedic mentor for Josh Gad and others on an SNL-like show.

THE EXPANSE (Syfy) – Interstellar conspiracy. (Yeah, just vague descriptions so far…)

EYE CANDY (MTV) – Directed by Twilight’s Catherine Hardwicke, Victoria Justice stars as a tech genius who suspects her online date is a serial killer.

FINDING CARTER (MTV) – A girl discovers that she was abducted as a kid and is adjusting to life with her biological family while hunting down the mom that raised her.

GREASE (Fox) – With the mammoth ratings for last season’s The Sound of Music Live!, Fox believes that Grease is the one that they want! They’re moving forward with a live taping of the musical. I assume this will be based on the movie since the stage version is quite different and doesn’t have some of the major songs (like the title track). Wonder if they’re just going to use the Glee cast or if they’ll be adding Justin Bieber or something (shudder!).

GIRLFRIENDS’ GUIDE TO DIVORCE (Bravo) – Produced and written by Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and based on the book series by Vicki Iovine, our heroine a self-help book author even though her own life is not exactly exemplary.

Girl's guide

KILLJOYS (Syfy) – Produced by the folks who brought you the stellar Orphan Black, this show is bounty hunters in space.

MARRIED (FX) Can an open marriage save the marriage? Stars Nat Faxon, Judy Greer, Paul Reiser and Regina Hill.

OLYMPUS (Syfy) – Super men and the gods.

PROJECT GREENLIGHT (HBO) – Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s pioneering reality show is back. The original followed the ups and downs of making a movie.

THE RETURNED (A&E) – An American remake of the French series that Fanboy Family member Scott Files has been obsessing over, Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Raelle Tucker (True Blood) will produce the story of some dead people who return to a sleepy town.

THE ROYALS (E!) – Not to be confused with the “reality” show of the same name, this is a scripted fictional family drama featuring a royal family and staring Elizabeth Hurley and William Moseley.

SHARKNADO 3 (Syfy) – Even before we can be subjected to the second one, Syfy is ordering a third. The best part about the original Sharknado was the hilarious twitter storm. I’m not sure those storms will always coincide with every Sharknado.

THE STRAIN (FX) – Based on the novel by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan (who both serve as writers), Carlton Cuse will run this show about vampires. With Guillermo and Carlton on board, there is an interesting cast including: Corey Stoll, Mia Maestro, Kevin Durand, John Hurt and Sean Astin. Entertainment Weekly got an exclusive look at the (creepy!) poster.

the-strain

TYRANT (FX) – Produced by Howard Gordon (24) and directed by David Yates (Harry Potter) this is a tale of Americans in the Middle East.

UNTITLED TRACY MORGAN (FXX) – Tracy Morgan gets a show.

YOU’RE THE WORST (FX) – Bad people try to become and stay friends with each other.

Z NATION (Syfy) – After a zombie plaque, a single survivor’s blood needs to get to the last viral lab to figure out his immunity.

Stay tuned!
