Outlander!
Outlander!!
Outlander!!!

Yep, Outlander FINALLY and officially debuts on Starz this Saturday! The epic, romantic, historic, action-filled, gorgeous show tells the story of Claire Randall who accidentally travels back 200 years in time to the clan conflicts of the Scottish Highlands. Brought to you from Ron Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek and Roswell) and based on the bestselling novels by Diana Gabaldon, it’s a great story. Don’t miss this one!!

We’ll continue our extensive coverage of Outlander here at Mike the Fanboy with some a non-reader’s introduction to the show, weekly recaps/discussions and several giveaway contests. Yeah, we’re way excited about this show!!

Outlander behind the scenes

Sean Bean won’t die! At least, he probably won’t since he’s the star of the new TNT show, Legends. Right, TNT? Right? Sean plays a deep cover CIA agent who starts to question his real identity. With Howard Gordon (24, Homeland) at the helm, expect a thinking person’s action thriller.

Clive Owen is teaming up with famed director Steven Soderbergh for a look at the early days of medicine in The Knick. Think House, but set 100 years ago.

AMC is bingeing the full Breaking Bad series with nightly marathons of each season beginning on Sunday. (Just in time to remind Emmy voters of the marvelous show or a strange coincidence?)

Fantasy-reality oxymoron The Quest is a bit of a damsel in distress with a weak start. I’m not sure if anyone is going to be able to rescue this princess so see if it makes it through the season.

The Quest

Halt and Catch Fire made it through its first season, but since the finale ratings were more “Halt” than “Catch Fire,” the show is in danger of not coming back next season. Shame since Lee Pace is still as likeable as ever — well, when he’s not playing Ronan and trying to destroy the universe, that is! (No official word yet).

Meanwhile, Undateable is getting a second date with a renewal for a second season by NBC.

Sneak Peak

Gotham released a new trailer, but they are looking for fans to make a new one! Yep, they are asking for fan-made trailers (and posters) and selecting the best for some Gotham swag. Even better, the grand prize winners will head to New York for the big red carpet premiere for Gotham! Check out the trailer below and, if you’re feeling creative, take a stab at entering the contest! Read through the rules very carefully since you can’t use any music or anything Batman

Stay tuned!
