While sitting here in my injured state, apparently I threw our my shoulder and can barely move my neck. Woo hoo… Good times. Anyway, while sitting here I was thinking of SDCC and one of my favorite things I was able to do there. Meet the cast of Veronica Mars!
It was pretty epic and I’m so fortunate to get a ticket to the signing.
Check out the recap below!
So much about Comic Con was… In a word crazy. I have more recaps of different days for you guys, but right now I wanted to finish up what I think is one of the coolest things I was able to get at Comic Con.
It’s no secret I love Veronica Mars. I was a backer for the film on Kickstarter, did a set visit to San Diego to see the old locations, and even went down to see some of the filming for the movie.
Now, at SDCC there was a rare wristband drawing Friday morning. In my group we all sort of split with most going with Game of Thrones. I of course Chose Veronica Mars.
The thing that sucks is you get up early and are just crossing your fingers in hope that you get the right ticket. Sigh…
Thankfully, in my sleep deprived state I picked the right ticket! Woo Hoo!
Now, honestly besides meeting the cast of Veronica Mars, I was most excited about actually seeing and holding the official movie poster. Yep, I’m a dork.
I still can’t believe it’s coming true.
I showed up and the WB booth for the signing and saw The Other Mike and Billy Beer in line for Game Of Thrones. I told Billy and Mike to snap some pics on the monitors of the singing. The thing with WB is that you can’t take any photos during the signing. Ugh… For a photo junkie like me, that really sucks.
The second thing is that Kristen Bell was not going to be at the signing. Veronica Mars not at the Veronica Mars signing? Yep. I did know this beforehand as they sent out a Kickstarter announcement so it didn’t shock me.
When I got to the signing the first person I saw was Rob Thomas. Rob was so thankful to be there, I told me I was a backer and he thanked me profusely. It was so great to see him again.
Enrico Colantoni was next and I have to tell you, he is the sweetest guy alive. I think he was on the verge of tears due to the outpouring of fan support. I mean he was just without words. All he could do was thank people. He was so cool.
Ryan was so cool. I told him we need to start working on the Party Down movie now. He was like, “YES!” LOL…
Jason Dohring again was super cool. He is just a genuine dude and so much more soft spoken in person than you would expect.
Percy Daggs III was next in line and again he was so jazzed to be at Comic Con. This was his first time here and he was loving all the fan support.
Tina Majorino looked at me and said, “Wait.. I remember you! You were on the set for the reunion!” I laughed and said yes! Tina Majorino fist pumped me and said, “That’s awesome man!” Can I tell you how much I love Tina? LOVE HER! Mac has always been a favorite, but Tina Majorino is so nice, I love Mac even more now!
Francis Capra actually left for a second and then came back. He said he was sorry about that. I was like, “No worries man.” The entire cast was so cool. Seriously. This is the first time I was able to meet Francis Capra so it was great to see him when the cast was doing the signing.
Chris Lowell was at the end and again super engaging. He talked about my Sunnydale shirt and said that there was a Buffy The Vampire Slayer joke in the trailer. I hadn’t seen it at that point but Chris and I discussed what makes a Hellmouth a Hellmouth. LOL.. It was pretty funny.
The poster itself… Amazing! It’s not the Veronica Mars series poster I would have wanted but I love the poster for the movie.
Can I tell you I can’t wait? I can’t wait!!!
Until next time kids…
