Oh What A Night! Meeting “Weird Al” Yankovic and Freaks and Geeks Star Busy Phillips! Autographs and More!
There are those random events that you think, “Oh this should be easy” and inevitably you miss someone or someone goes in a different way, etc…
I headed out to this small event in Los Angeles for a few people, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Jenny Slate and Busy Phillips are who I went for.
I heart me some Busy Phillips, she was so good in Cougar Town and of course Freaks and Geeks!
There were only a couple others when I arrived and soon after… There was Busy Phillips.
Busy is so nice. She stopped and we talked for a hot second.
She signed my Freaks and Geeks photo and did a quick selfie with me. Swoon.
Then I continued to wait, then I spotted “Weird Al” Yankovic literally running down the street.
I was like, oh shit, he’s super late.
Al was so nice though, he said, “I gotta get in, is it okay if I just sign one thing for you?” I was like, no worries. I didn’t get to get a photo with him but he signed my UHF poster and I was able to gush for a second.
Sadly, I wanted a while longer and didn’t see Jenny Slate. Doh.
But all the crazies started coming out because the guy who played Jar Jar Binks is Star Wars was here. lol. I was like, yeah… no thanks.
It was a good night even though I missed Jenny!
Until next time kids…
Wired So really is such a nice guy. Sometimes his people are not the nicest, but he couldn’t have been nicer the time I met him. Got a UHF 8×12 poster and a baseball signed when I met him.
Oye, auto correct Obviously I meant Weird Al, Not wired so….
I hate to break it you that’s not a selfie ( that’s just a photo with) a selfie is what you take not what someone else takes.
He was super nice. It’s the first time I was able to meet him, but totally cool. I think he would have chatted a bit more if he wasn’t in such a rush. I think as a kid I wore out my Dare to Be Stupid cassette! LOL
It’s okay George, you can break it to me. I’m tough like that.
Wow! His signature has changed very little since Spring of 83. (have him on a promo for his first album)
Took me over 23 years to see his band perform in the Ozarks… well worth the wait!
