Zookeeper World Movie Premiere! Otherwise Known as Holy Crap I Got Cher To Autograph My Burlesque Movie Poster! Rosario Dawson! Henry Winkler! Jon Favreau!

CB is already on the scene and I’ve just arrived. I parked like a million miles away, and didn’t realize it. But, on a positive note, the parking was free! This is Westwood after all, and parking always sucks. Today is the Zookeeper premiere, and while I don’t expect this film to get a best picture nomination, I keep hearing good things, but the real reason I’m here… CHER! I know, the chances of her coming over are like, slim to none, but the one time I don’t go is the one time she’ll do it… so… armed with my Zookeeper and Burlesque mini posters, I am off!

5:12 p.m. – CB held me a spot so big props to him for that. This whole work think is getting in the way of my fanboying… lol… There are some people here, but it’s not insane yet.

5:14 p.m. – The insane thing is that there are PETA protesters here… ugh… I heard, well… according to the signs that the animals were not treated well during the filming… I doubt that… But I’m not getting into a debate… lol…

5:16 p.m. – I just got word Adam Sandler is not coming… dammit! I hear he is filming back east. I can put my 50 First Dates poster away.. grumble… Sam Rockwell is supposed to be here though… Erica has a story about her encounter with him… and it’s not positive.

5:22 p.m. – Wait, is there an arrival already? Wha! This must be a super early carpet.

5:24 p.m. – Oh crap, that’s Donnie Wahlberg! I know he has a show at the Honda Center tonight so I didn’t think he would be here, but apparently he’s here! Coolness!

5:26 p.m. – Donnie Wahlberg, of New Kids On The Block fame runs over and signs a few things.

CB and I got him on our Zookeeper posters, not the best autograph lol, but at least we got him right?

5:28 p.m. – He’s trying to get as much done as he can but he’s clearly in a hurry. I give him props for coming over!

5:31 p.m. – Oh, another arrival, it’s Bas Rutten! he’s a voice actor in the film and was a UFC fighter… I think it was UFC at least, if I’m wrong I’m sure CB will correct me.

5:32 p.m. – Either way, he’s super cool and ignoring the protestors which is pretty great of him. He’s signing quite a bit, and we all got him on our Zookeeper posters.

5:34 p.m. – I’m shocked that the carpet is so early! I have a feeling some of the bigger people might not come over because they don’t want to get photographed with the protestors in the background… Just a thought.

5:37 p.m. – Oh there’s another car… It’s Verne Troyer! Mini me! He’s super nice as well… He comes over to sign and take pics with fans. I wish I had my Austin Powers poster with me! Dammit!

5:38 p.m. – Verne Troyer is greeting the crowd and is really nice!

5:41 p.m. – Ken Jeong just arrived… As usual, he’s super nice and comes right over to the crowd.

5:43 p.m. – CB asks him if he is ever going to talk about where he went to school, which I didn’t understand and I don’t think Ken Jeong did either, cause he was like, I went to school here… You have to watch the video to understand! lol…

5:46 p.m. – There is a priest who just showed up… Wow, maybe the Zookeeper needs a prayer for it’s box office success! lol… That was such a bad joke I’m even embarrassed!

5:49 p.m. – Oh, it’s Jon Favreau! He’s always been very fan friendly as long as I’ve seen him out and about and he comes right over to the crowd even though he is clearly rushed…

And he makes sure and only signs one thing per person.

5:51 p.m. – I got Jon on my Elf mini poster. I already have an Iron Man mini poster he signed for me, so that’s why I didn’t get him on that. lol…

5:56 p.m. – Oh, there’s Leslie Bibb and Sam Rockwell!

Sam Rockwell is not that cool… AT ALL… Leslie Bibb has a new series coming out next year I’m super stoked for Good Christian Belles so it would be great to get a photo with her… But… Wow, they are going right on in… Damn…

5:57 p.m. – I was worried about the protestors, and this might be the first causality of PETA… Or, she wouldn’t have come over anyway, who knows.

6:01 p.m. – Kevin James is arriving, and holy crap, I didn’t even see him. They pulled his car right up to the carpet and he like dove onto the carpet… Erica had a good experience with him at the Dilemma premiere so I’m going to chalk this up to PETA protesting… hmmmmmmmm…. But people are saying he’s not that nice.

6:05 p.m. – Speaking of Kevin James there’s his King Of Queens costar Ms. Leah Remini! She is so nice, and just comes right on over and signs for people, takes photos, I mean like… Over the top nice.

6:07 p.m. – There’s The Fonz! Henry Winkler has arrived. He’s super nice as well, and come right on over to sign autographs… So, the stars of the movie don’t sign, but the walkers do… hmmmmm….

6:08 p.m. – Henry spies Leah Remini and goes over to her. I hear him tell her, that’s he’s a big fan of hers. lol… And then they hug. It’s really a nice moment. I think I got most of it on video.

6:10 p.m. – Leah Remini is now signing on the other side of the barricade as well. Henry Winkler is talking with some little girl and says something to her about how she has power behind her eyes… Okay, there Fonz… don’t creep the kids out…

6:13 p.m. – There’s a tad bit of a lull, but only Cher and Rosario Dawson remain… Hmmmmm….

6:16 p.m. – There’s a giant limo with like 20 people in it… Oh Kathy Griffin!

6:17 p.m. – Holy crap, Cher is in the same limo with Kathy Griffin!

I’m waving my Burlesque poster with all my might and everyone is chanting Cher! Cher! Cher! But all she does is wave and goes inside. That’s pretty much what I was expecting, but… sigh…

6:23 p.m. – I’m not disappointed really, I mean she didn’t sign for Burlesque, or her handprint ceremony so having her sign at Zookeeper was a stretch!

6:27 p.m. – Another car… It’s… Oh, it’s Rosario Dawson! She gets out and goes right onto the carpet… Man oh man… That’s pretty much it…

6:34 p.m. – I’m thinking Cher might leave early so I’m going to see if her car is waiting…

6:51 p.m. – Nothing… Sigh… There’s Rosario Dawson going into the movie theatre, and she says she can’t sign and goes inside…

7:05 p.m. – Still no car for Cher! This must be the first time she is staying for the whole movie! It’s probably because she’s not in the movie and only a voice… Just a thought.

7:22 p.m. – CB is on one side, and I’m on the other so we can see if the car pulls up…

8:01 p.m. – Wow, she must be staying for the entire event… man oh man… I’m shocked!

8:23 p.m. – Still hanging loose…

8:37 p.m. – I’m getting hungry, I might need some food… mmmmm food!

8:54 p.m. – Some people are trickling out… We are heading down to the other side, because we can’t see anything here!

9:01 p.m. – There is a mob of people here, but Patrick who is also a huge Cher fan knows which car is hers… so… we are keeping our eye on the prize…

9:11 p.m. – Oh, There’s Jon Favreau… He’s coming over and does sign a bit like 10 maybe…

9:17 p.m. – Leslie Bibb and Sam Rockwell are like coming right over to us, but don’t even flinch and don’t even wave… wow, that kinda sucks… They both jumped right into their cars…

9:19 p.m. – Oh, Rosario Dawson… She is talking to someone for a second.. Wow, she’s coming right on over and starts to sign for everyone… She is so nice!

I know CB got her before but I didn’t realize how cool she was.

9:21 p.m. – Rosario Dawson is coming my way now, and she signs my Clerks II DVD and my Zookeeper poster…

and then I see her! Cher is leaving… I turn to Patrick and say, Patrick.. CHER! He says, “We can’t get out…” There are literally 10 people packing us in.. I’m like, oh hell no! I plow through everyone, so does Patrick, and…

9:22 p.m. – I swear, it’s like God performed a miracle, and moved everyone out of our way. Like Moses parting the red sea my friends… that’s how it was.. no other collector’s no dealers, just the two of us, and not only do we catch up to Cher, but we find a place on the barricade right next to her car.

9:23 p.m. – We both yell and I hold out my Burlesque mini poster and I’m waving it for all it’s worth… Then it happened… Cher walks over. I passed out… Fanboyed out… I mean I was freaking! She signs one for Patrick, and then signs my Burlesque mini poster, she signs another one for Patrick and before I could whip out my Moonstruck poster, Cher was done. Seriously… I am so happy… I was looking for someone to hug… I’m jus like holy shit… Like… damn… I never thought that this would happen but like I said, you just have to try… I think she saw me and Patrick on the way in, that might have helped…

9:24 p.m. – Then, get this… Cher’s car stops by the large crowd and she she gets out again! She signs for the front row, mainly for little kids, and takes off again. I couldn’t get in to get another, but CB was able to get his Burlesque poster finished as well.

All I can say is WOW! The rest of the premiere was kind of a bummer, but getting Cher was more than I could have expected. And even though Scotty gave me shit for getting her on Burlesque, I actually like the movie… It’s not great, but I liked it, and I just didn’t think she would have walked over if it wasn’t Burlesque… So, I figured it was a better shot than Moonstruck or Mermaids… Or anything else with an “M.” lol…

Still in shock… Really…
