Box Office Breakdown! Guardians Back On Top! Sin City Bombs! If I Stay Hits!
I have never been more thrilled to be wrong! Guardians of the Galaxy blasted the competition and regained the top spot bringing home $17.6 million in its 4th week of release.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles slipped to number two with $16.8 million and a domestic total of $145.6 million.
If I Stay opened at number three with $16.3 million. With a small budget of just $11 million, color this tear jerker a hit.
Let’s Be Cops got paroled at number four with $11 million. A modest budget of $17 million and a domestic total of $45 million could indicate a sequel.
The football drama When the Game Stands Tall fumbled, opening at number five with $9 million.
The Giver took in another $6.7 million at number six. It’s probably good this book is a stand-alone and not a series. I’m not sure we’d ever see the sequels if they existed.
The Expendables 3 sank to number seven with $6.6 million and a domestic total of $27.5 million.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was condemned, opening at number eight with just $6.4 million. Production and release delays did not help this franchise at all.
The Hundred-Foot Journey snacked at number nine with $5.5 million.
Rounding out the top ten was Into the Storm with $3.8 and domestic total of $38 million. Looks like their $50 million budget got swept away.

right.
Until then, happy movie going.

Bam-n-da-nam! Sin City, who knew? No one cares about Alba huh? Wow. No one saw that.
Flop City.
A very nice recap. Did you see Sin City Susan? I saw your previous post on the signing and was wondering your thoughts on the film. Did you find it enjoyable?
Ryan B. – right? Who knew it would flop so bad. So happy for
Pratt-o-mattack though.
Danielle – thanks! I did check out Sin City 2 – I hate to say but it is full of problems. I loved the first one, but this one missed the mark. They actually made gratuitous, stylized violence boring.
