It’s Friday, which means it’s PCC time! Time for the PCC! Getting the scoop on all things Pop Culture… I’ll never do that again. Sorry.
This week Karalee is counting down all the goodness in the world of Pop Culture! Kayne West, Jonas Brothers Break Up, Baywatch reunions and more!
Check it out after the jump!
Woo hoo, it’s Friday! I’m happy for several reasons: I’m going home to Michigan next week (so be prepared for a scaled-down PCC next week…PCC-lite, if you will), my Detroit Tigers are in the American League Championship Series, and try as they might, I’ve still managed to exclude Miley and Bieber from this online space that is the PCC. (I just can’t with those two. I just can’t.). For those who did make the cut, congrats: You’re less soul-draining than Miley and Bieber. (Though Kanye is really starting to press his luck.) And with that, on to this week’s PCC!
For your consideration
Kanye West went on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show this week to squash their Twitter feud and proceeded to remind people that he is one of the most exhausting celebrities on the planet. One of his astute observations: “There’s no way that Kim Kardashian shouldn’t have a star on the Walk of Fame.”
Hey, it’s not like Hollywood Boulevard isn’t accustomed to welcoming street walkers.
Say it ain’t so, bros
If you know a Jonas Brothers fan, a) keep that to yourself and b) give them a hug because the singing siblings have canceled all their concert dates, citing a “deep rift within the band” — marking the first time the words “deep” and “band” have been associated with the Jonas Brothers.
Remember “Baywatch?” Of course you do, ya perv. Well, it turns out the show — which will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year — had a contract clause for its female cast members, including Pamela Anderson and Nicole Eggert, that stated they could not gain or lose more than five pounds.
So overeating was forbidden; overacting, on the other hand, totally allowed.
Nothing says microwaveable, processed food like an over-exposed swimsuit model. Kate Upton’s new commercial features her alongside Snoop Lion (you may know him better as Snoop Dogg), posing provocatively (shock!), promoting Hot Pockets. Oh, and it’s all done to the remixed lyrics of “You Got What I Eat,” ala Biz Markie’s “Just a Friend (You Got What I Need).” Sigh. Half-baked, indeed.
Twice as nice
For the second time, Scarlett Johansson has been named Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire — the first woman to earn the illustrious title twice by the magazine.
Her response? “Well, you know…I am a movie star.” Wow, hot annnndddd humble. Somewhere Reese Witherspoon is asking, “How come it’s OK when she says it?!”
That’s all for this week, friends…catch ya on the flip side!
