Manic Monday! Pinky Boogaloo’s! After Meeting Breakin’ 2 Star Michael Chambers! 1980’s Goodness!
“Girls are whack, man!!”
There’s really nothing like cult classic films and one of the most referenced films in this genre is Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo. Personally, I just like saying Boogaloo, and try to fit it in often in common conversation. Sadly, there’s not many instances where Boogaloo can be used..
“Let’s get to the boogaloo!” doesn’t really work..
“OMG! that song is so awesome, I wanna Boogaloo…” see… Still doesn’t fit.
Ah well… Pinky, was out and about, and had a boogaloo of her own… Meeting one of the stars of Breakin’ 2, Michael Chambers!
Check out this weeks Boogaloo’n Manic Monday below!

Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy-Coogan here thinking back to the good ol’ eighties – the days of parachute pants, jelly shoes, and, of course, break dancing.
Back in the day, there were very few things cooler than someone being able to breakdance. So, when the movie Breakin’ came out in 1984, I remember it being a pretty big deal.
Apparently, it was also Cannon Films most financially successful movie as a distributor, which is probably why the sequel, Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo was released not long thereafter. The first film even showed Ice-T in his film premiere as an MC.
A few weeks ago, Keith and I were lucky enough to attend a celebrity gifting suite in honor of the American Music Awards. At the suite, we ran into none other than Michael Chambers who played “Turbo” in both films.
Michael was incredibly cool and gave Keith a big hug when he saw him.
He was a very sweet guy and it was a lot of fun to see him all grown up – 30 years after the movie was released!
