It was no surprise that Insurgent seized the top spot this weekend. The twist however, is that it opened with $500,000 less than its predecessor.
Cinderella was still full of magic at number two with $34.5 million.
Run All Night stayed sluggish at number three with $5.1 million.
The Gunman should have been named the bomb man, opening at number four with just $5 million.
Kingsmen the Secret Service is still going strong after six weeks, taking the number five spot with $4.6 million.
Do You Believe opened at number six with $4 million. Am I the only one who’s never even heard of this movie?
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel slipped to number seven with a frumpy $3.4 million.
Focus needed glasses at number eight with $3.3 million, just breaking even against its $50 million budget.
At number nine was Chappie with $2.6 million. Even artificial intelligence would have said no to green-lighting this stinker.
Rounding out the top ten was SpongeBob with $2.3 million and stayed afloat for seven weeks with a domestic total of $158.7 million.
