It’s Manic Monday!
And I don’t know about you, but I want to have a House Party!
Awww yeah uh uh
Who didn’t love Kid n’ Play? They were a staple of the early 1990’s!
Pinky, met Kid! AKA Christopher Reid and no, she didn’t bust a rhyme!
Check out her recap below!
Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy-Coogan here quite shocked, actually, at the amount of information I found while researching this week’s subject for Manic Monday. Now, as someone who graduated in 1991, I can assure you that I was all too familiar with Kid ‘n Play back in the day – they were everywhere! But I guess I didn’t quite grasp just HOW big they were.
I mean, did you know they had their own Saturday morning cartoon?!?! That’s right – in addition to having CDs and movies, they also had a cartoon, a comic book, and Kid’s hairstyle was featured in a video game!
Add this to their magazine covers and I think you can safely say they were everywhere back then! I always thought Kid’s hair was hysterical – what did they call him? “Eraserhead?”
A few weeks ago I was at a pre-Oscar party and saw Christopher Reid (aka Kid) walk by me. Before I could stop myself, I said, “Christopher, may I please get a picture with you?” I wasn’t quite sure if I should call him Kid or Christopher, so I went with the latter. He was very nice and after our picture I apologized for calling him Christopher (since it just felt weird) and he said, “Well, it’s my name!” Honestly I’m not sure how I even knew his name wasn’t really Kid, but I’m glad I could think quickly when I saw him!
