Backstreet’s back, all right!! Yes, I went to the recent Backstreet Boys concert at the Gibson Amphitheatre. What a night! What show!
My friends and I arrived a little late, which was a blessing in disguise. DJ Pauly D was the opening act and did his “thing” for about 30 minutes. We only caught the last five minutes – yay. Hey Pauly, I know what the ‘D’ stands for and it rhymes with swoosh.
The second opening act was Jesse McCartney. He was amazing. He’s way more talented than Justin Bieber in every way, but I guess having Usher on your side is the key to mega fame.
The Boys opened with ‘The Call’ and the crowd went wild. There are few things worse than attending a concert with a dad crowd. These people, sang every lyric, did every dance move and generally bonded with each other. Men, women, younger, older – they were all having the time of their lives.
I was lucky enough to have the third row behind the floor pit. The Boys were sincerely appreciative of the fans (including the ‘dudes’ as they put it) and know that they are the reason for BSB’s amazing success over the years. For those who scoff at the “boy band” image they once had, these grown men with families CAN sing, CAN dance and are genuinely talented. They proved that by doing a short acoustic set while playing guitar.
The Boys rocked the night and closed with an encore that included ‘Everybody’ and ‘I Want it that Way’.
They also treated some lucky fans (including me)
to an after party at the Hard Rock Café. Nick was DJ-ing while Kevin and Howie danced with fans and took photos with them on stage.
Unfortunately, by the time I realized what was going on and got my place in the crowd, the party was over. But, one of my friend’s life ambitions was to meet Kevin Richardson. She sure fulfilled her wish and even got a short video of them dancing together on her iPhone. Score!! An awesome night all around.

Oh Susan!
I saw your encounter and wanted to soar into the heavens and make a wreath of lotus blossoms to dance around your face. You could have taken it to the concert and shown it off to the envy of everyone around you. Yes… Everyone loves a flower wreath.
A stargazer lily for every soul you touch, every dream that was dreamt and the happiness that bursts from my every being. I want to shout, “Everybody, Suddenly Susan is dancing!” The village would burst into applause and we would skip down the cobblestone streets with the admiration of the lands.
Now, to the gritty.
Susan, I decided something. This rocky shore will no longer hold me, it forces me to do dishes and not enjoy the prairie dogs like I used to. I make quilts for small animals in the trees but lately the income has been soft. I want my own abode and could use the advice of the wise sage Suddenly Susan… The Huntress living off the land in the urban metropolis. If only I could tap into your brain and see what’s cooking! Tis not so I know. The long miles and ocean floor keep us apart. Oh…
The fun we would have, two sisters separated by miles and miles. We would go on fabulous adventures and sing the song of the boy band. At night we would nestle together snuggling with the Frenchman to tuck us in at night. Don’t tell the lanky one but the Frenchman is my kind of bohunk. Swarthy and gruff but with a heart of a lamb.
Oh Susan, you are long.
I was composing a sonnet and tome for you… But wait… I don’t want to premiere it until the finished version seems from my cranium. The title is eloquent, “do do do you… do do do Suddenly Susan is a lover… do do do but the Huntress in addition to being a being with love.”
Yay!
I know you want to see more but you will! Soon the huntress will rise like the Phoenix. I also am writing a novel. I’m not going to tell you what’s it about… A hint? Oh Susan.. Okay. I’ll give you a hint. Tree frogs, The Huntress, lilipads, adventure, and gill people.
Shhhh don’t tell.
I enjoy your adventures! Toodles and Toshes!
nice Suze… Love the pics. you are a rocken slice of sweet!
OMG Best Time EVER!!!! =D I LOVE THEM!!!! <3 Glad you had fun too. The after parties are so AWESOME!!!
