Looks like SpongeBob takes the cake winning the weekend with an impressive $56 million.
American Sniper was just slightly out of focus at number two with $24.1 million, bringing its domestic total to a patriotic $282.2 million!
Jupiter Ascending was out of orbit, opening at number three with just $19 million. Who green-lit this stinker and its $176 million budget?
Seventh Son didn’t fair any better, opening at number four with $7.1 million. At least this plagued series had a budget of only $95 million.
Paddington chatted his way to number five with $5.3 million and a domestic total of $57.2 million. Not bad for a talking stuffed bear.
Project Almanac was a faint memory at number six with $5.3 million after only its second week in release.
After 11 weeks in release, The Imitation Game held at number seven with $4.8 million and an impressive domestic total of $74.7 million. Those are some fine looking numbers.
The Wedding Ringer made a vow at number eight with $4.8 million. Their modest profit margin just might allow for a sequel.
Black or White fell to number nine with 4.5 million after opening at number four last week.
Rounding out the top ten was The Boor Next Door with just $4.1 million and is soon to be evicted from the box office.

Until then, happy movie going!
