Another Leicester Square premiere to write about, I really am flying through these today! This time the world premiere of Cuban Fury, the brainchild of Nick Frost who stars alongside Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd and Ian McShane. It’s a really fun film and I really recommend seeing it if you get a chance. I was lucky enough to have a ticket to the premiere, and came out with a genuine smile on my face. Anyways, the red carpet. This was a bit of a strange one – usually it takes an hour or so to meet everyone at a premiere as they go about between photographers, media and fans. Here however, it was all done within 10 minutes. Really was that quick, which worked out awesomely!
First to come over was Nick Frost himself. The star of Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, The World’s End and Paul was as awesome as always, and happily signed my PaulDVD sleeve and posed for a photo.
He was followed by Facejacker and Fonejacker star, Kayvan Novak, who signed an index card and posed for a photo too. I love Facejacker, it’s such a silly programme.
Next to come over was Bridesmaids, The IT Crowd, This is 40 and Moone Boy starChris O’Dowd. I love Chris, I think he’s a great actor. He happily signed an index card and posed for a photo with me.
I tried to get a slightly less out-of-focus photo, which didn’t really come out any better!
His wife, presenter Dawn Porter was with him, so I got an index card signed and a photo with her too.
The fabulous Olivia Coleman followed, who was as lovely as ever. The star ofBroadchurch, Locke, The Iron Lady and Hyde Park on Hudson signed an index card and posed for a photo.
Skyfall and Quantum of Solace actor Rory Kinnear came over next, and he signed an index card and posed for a photo with me.
Next to come over was the person I’d come to meet, Parks and Recreation starRashida Jones. I LOVE Parks and Recreation, it’s one of my favourite American programmes, and I’m gutted it’s ending after the seventh season. Rashida’s the first (and only) cast member I’ve met from it, so I was rather excited when it was announced she’d be coming over for this. She signed an index card and posed for a photo with me (after I’d blabbed a bit about my love for all things Pawnee).
Chris Pratt is due here for a premiere next month, I hope I get to meet Andy to go with Ann!
Rashida was followed by the final arrival of the night, Ian McShane, best known for his roles in Lovejoy, Deadwood, Pirates of the Caribbean and Kung Fu Panda. He signed an index card for me and posed for a photo too.
I then went in to watch the film, which was awesome. Nick Frost did a great speech beforehand about how much the film meant to him, which was really cool to here. Afterwards I spotted Doctor Who and Eastenders actress Tracy Ann Oberman in the foyer, so got a photo with her.
I hung about for a bit afterwards, and managed to get my premiere ticket signed by Rashida, Ian, Olivia and Kayvan. Nice way to end the evening!
