Daniel Is Shaken Not Stirred When He Meets 007 Himself Roger Moore At his Harrod’s Book Signing! James Bond Awesomeness!

There are a lot of 007 fans out there, and generations of people have grown up with the 7 movies. For me at least when I first started watching James Bond films, I associated Roger Moore with the shaken not stirred star. Now, there have been several other Bonds since then including Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and now Daniel Craig.

Hi guys, it’s me Daniel again, hope you all enjoyed my last report regarding the Arnie book signing! I’m back again to share my experience with the book signing that I did before the Arnie one, Sir Roger Moore of course! Possibly the greatest Bond of all time?

This signing took place at Harrods department store, London on 11/10/12. First of all, this started off a couple of months back, when I was browsing through the latest and upcoming book signings, where I spotted this one, so decided to pencil it into my diary. This event was due to start at 6.30pm, which was a great time as it didn’t mean having to get up or leave at a very early time in the morning, which meant that I could decide to go after university.

After looking at the Harrods website, I found out that the book was going to cost £25 and Sir Roger was only going to be signing 200 books. I had to go, especially as I found out that he no longer signs in public due to dealers harassing him and his family in hotels for him to sign autographs, damn dealers, they ruin everything!

1.30pm- I finish university, so I decide to grab some lunch and head towards the bus stop in order to catch one of the two buses that I have to get to the store. Should only take just over an hour, hoping to get there by 3pm.

2.45pm- Arrive at Harrods department store, I have to say, it is quite intimidating when you arrive at this store, as I feel like you have to be smartly dressed and rich, I am well erm….not that lol.

(Editor’s Note: LOL, I don’t think any of us are Daniel! HA! M-)

2.55pm- After faffing about, trying to find WHSmiths (a famous book shop here in the UK), which is in the store itself, I manage to find it. Seriously the staff at Harrods are hopeless, they didn’t know that there was a WHSmiths here!

3pm- Manage to find the new book that I have to purchase, “Bond on Bond” by Sir Roger Moore.  I decide to purchase that on my credit card for £25 and am handed a ticket to queue up for the signing. I am then told that the signing will be held on the second floor.

3.05pm- Arrive on the second floor, I must be too early, there isn’t anything setup yet or any indications that the signing is going to be in this section of the store. I manage to speak to a lady who’s also waiting for the signing; apparently she got here at 10am!

3.30pm- A few more people begin to arrive, must be about five of us here by now, not too bad I must say, expected a lot more than this. We then look for a member of staff, to tell us where we should be actually waiting for the signing.

4pm- A few members of staff manage to setup a queue for the signing and place a table for where Sir Roger is going to be signing, this is much better, being it’s the right place for the signing.

5pm- My legs are feeling tired lol, I hate waiting about for ages but hopefully the time flies by, speaking with the people behind me isn’t bad, always good to hear stories about other celebrities that I haven’t met.

6pm- Not too long to wait now, the atmosphere is getting better, actually hearing some Bond music being played! Diamonds are forever……. Must be over 100 people here by now!

6.35pm- Here he comes, SIR ROGER MOORE!!!…………007!!!……BOND…JAMES BOND….I must say that Sir Roger looks great for his age and he arrives with his wife, to sit down at the table. Wasn’t the biggest applaud I must say, even Sir Roger asked for a louder applause, now time for the paps pics!

6.45pm- The book signing commences and I am second in line, so not a too long wait, I have my book ready, shame there’s no posed photography, ah well will have to take a picture of Sir Roger signing my book!

6.46pm- Finally reach the table and wish Sir Roger a great Birthday for the Sunday; he thanks me and signs my book.

Glad to have met Sir Roger, that time did certainly fly by!

I must say that was a fantastic afternoon, meeting some great people in the queue to speak to and possibly the greatest Bond of all time! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I just had to take! I hoped you enjoyed my report!
