The fourth season of the Syfy series, Haven will debut on September 10th so that gives you just enough time to binge watch season 3 to get caught up on recent events.
Based on the Stephen King short story “The Colorado Kid,” Haven is about a small town in Maine (where else?) where some strange things happen. In this town, there is a reoccurring history with some odd happenings called “The Troubles.” Yep, there has to be some sort of supernatural twist, right?
Season 3 continues after the cliff hanger where we learn the fate of former FBI Agent and now local police officer Audrey Parker (Emily Rose) as Nathan (Lucas Bryant) and Duke (Eric Balflour – who will always be Jessie from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to me!) try to save her.
With more fun chaos and weirdness this season, there are also some great stars including Laura Vandervoort (Smallville, V) and Iain Glen (Game of Thrones, Downton Abby, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider).
Also, keep your eyes out for various Stephen King Easter eggs. Across the series, the show has made reference to Shawshank prison, recreated some of the more innocent scenes from It, flashed a copy of a book by Paul Sheldon (Misery) and other little teases for fun.
Can’t wait for season 4? Well, included with the DVD and Blu Ray is a copy of a graphic novel, After the Storm, which will help bridge the story towards season 4.
Haven season 3 is available on DVD and Blu Ray now.
Haven season 4 begins on Syfy on September 10th.
