San Diego Comic Con Day 2! Friday! David Boreanaz! Emily Deschanel! Bob’s Burgers Cast! Teen Wolf Cast! Karl Urban! Dredd! Milla Jovovich! Lana Parrilla! Autographs! Photos! and More!
Man, I’ll tell you… It’s a crazy, crazy weekend. As I said before I just don’t feel prepared for Comic Con this year. It was moved up a week and it’s thrown a lot of people off. I just have a bad feeling I’ll wake up and go, Okay ready for Comic Con now and it will be over. Doh!
Today is Friday the second official day of Comic Con 2012. There are signings and all kinds of craziness going on. And I have to tell you, I’m a tad cranky! LOL…
7:30 a.m. – I’m here at the convention center in line and there’s not that many people in front of me. FOX is doing their line drawings today and I’m hoping to get into the Bones signing. Any time I can talk to David Boreanaz is a good thing! LOL…
8:01 a.m. – Susan arrived a few minutes ago and so did Billy Beer. This could either go well, or go to shit. I guess we’ll see…
8:22 a.m. – The line for the Warner Bros signings stretch out the door. Damn… There are a few shows I wanted at the WB but I chose Angel, I mean David Boreanaz over them. LOL…
8:34 a.m. – Did I mention I haven’t had any caffeine yet? Mike is one cranky son of a bitch! lol… FOX has started their line drawings. One of the ladies used me as an example of people who went through the line several times to get a ticket yesterday. Did I mention I had to go to standby to get one? lol…
8:41 a.m. – It’s almost my turn! Sigh… They have tickets for Teen Wolf, Bones, Bob’s Burgers, and something called Brickleberry. Then I have to run to Lionsgate and try for the Judge Dredd signing. Sigh…
8:44 a.m. – Yay! I got my Bones ticket! I didn’t get Teen Wolf so I’m running to the end of the line now. Susan got Teen Wolf! She loves her some Teen Wolf! If you remember she did a report on the Teen Wolf panel at the Paley Center.
9:09 a.m. – Through the line again! No Teen Wolf for me. I did get Bob’s Burgers, Glee Project and Brickleberry. Oh well, I got a lot of the ones I want. It’s off to the standby line for Teen Wolf signing for me!
9:34 a.m. – I’m on the convention floor! Susan actually grabbed me a Judge Dredd wristband! I was going through the FOX line trying for Teen Wolf again. Sigh…
10:09 a.m. – Having my handy dandy press pass, I was invited to the Django Unchained exhibit.
It’s right next to the Petco parking lot. They are giving out shirts to the press and also have mini posters as well. Sweet! The setup is pretty cool. It’s like a small city. I’m excited for this movie I have to tell ya!
10:48 a.m. – I’m at Lionsgate in the madness for Judge Dredd! Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby are here and signing one sheet posters. Andrew and John are here and Susan just joined us in the line. It’s a tad insane.
11:09 a.m. – There’s Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby.
The line goes pretty past, Karl is really nice and so is Olivia as well. It’s a really nice poster even though the silver pen isn’t the best on my poster!
11:34 a.m. – I’m at the FOX booth for the Glee Project autograph signing.
I’ve never seen the show, I admit it but I figure I would grab the ticket anyway.
The cast is really nice and seem to genuinely like being at the con which is cool.
11:36 a.m. – I just ran a loop back to the FOX booth for the Teen Wolf signing. I’m trying to get in standby so hopefully it works out.
There are others hovering with me as well… I have to say that FOX is the best booth for getting extra people in. Places like Warner Bros don’t even try. If they have extra time they still won’t let extra people in. I think that’s kind of rude.
11:56 a.m. – Ah the madness of standby…
12:11 p.m. – The cast is here and signing, Suddenly Susan keep talking about how nice they all are.
12:23 p.m. – Oh, they are lining up the standby people now! I’m not too far back so God willing I’ll get in!
12:41 p.m. – Yay, I’m in! Susan is so right, the cast is really nice. It’s always great to meet a cast like this when they show is still in the infancy stage.
They are all really sweet to the fans. Once you hit season 5 I think you get a tad jaded. So, I’m glad that this cast is super cool!
12:56 p.m. – I did a quick swag lap and then I had to… Wait for it… Get back to the FOX Booth for the Bob’s Burgers signing at 1:30.
1:15 p.m. – So, I guess my day is Dredd and FOX lol… That’s cool. I’ve been fortunate today and it’s been fun hanging out with Billy Beer and Suddenly Susan.
1:36 p.m. – Susan, Billy and I all have the Bob’s Burgers signing so we’re all chilling. I’m trying to keep the energy up.
1:45 p.m. – We’re in line. Again the cast is really nice.
Kristen Schaal is really nice even though I’ve seen her out and about a couple times and she hasn’t really been super fan friendly.
I do love signings like this though because the signatures are always so so so much better.
1:55 p.m. – I’m at the SONY Booth. There’s a three breasted alien there that I just had to get a photo of. Good times!
1:59 p.m. – They have some other things from Total Recall as well. Plus the bike/motorcycle prop from Looper.
2:24 p.m. – Oh, finally I get to see a couple Slave Leia’s! I was worried I wouldn’t get to see any! I have seen way too many unfortunate shirtless Aquamen walking around. I think it’s a new thing. Sigh…
2:41 p.m. – I’m in the Bones signing line! I’m so stoked. I fear that I’m going to totally fanboy – freakout on David Boreanaz! It’s a thing.
3:01 p.m. – Oh there they are! David and Emily Deschanel are here!
Here’s another great example of why I love signings like this. Yes you have to get their poster signed but especially in this case I love the poster FOX has. The Bones promo poster this year is really cool.
3:14 p.m. – I’m getting nervous. I’m walking up with Billy and he’s already making fun of me.
3:23 p.m. – Oh Lord, here we go! Both David and Emily have just been given a bunch of the rare Bones light up gloves.
3:31 p.m. – Here I go… And I fanboy freak out on David… Dammit Michael just shut up.
I tell David how much I like Angel and Buffy and how much I liked the Angel finale. I think I actually said, “I think I wanna slay the dragon” but I’m not a 100% sure.
I’m sure Billy will be happy to recount how crazy stupid I was. Sigh… I was also able to talk to Emily for a second.
She asked if I wanted a glove and I was like Oh My God would you mind signing it? Emily said, “well, I’m not supposed to but…” The signature is horrible but I thought it was fun. As a mental note the FOX Cloth gloves are not the best things to get signed.
lol… Both stars were really nice and the signatures look so beautiful!
3:49 p.m. – Susan, Billy and I ran over to the Huckleberry booth. The animators from Paranorman were doing a low key signing and we thought we would get them to sign a poster for us.
3:51 p.m. – I made Billy put on one of the Bones gloves. lol…
3:59 p.m. – The signing has started! All three people on the signing were really nice. Don’t expect me to name them.
I told them my friend Scott had gotten me interested in the movie so they insisted on signing a poster for him as well. All were really nice!
4:09 p.m. – I have to head back to FOX now and security has blocked the entire row because the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have decided to leave. Sigh… Welcome to Comic Con!
4:23 p.m. – We’re in line now. I see one of the Gods from Prometheus wandering the floor. He sticks out a tad.
4:48 p.m. – The signing has started, honestly I have never heard of Brickleberry. It’s a new animated series from FOX. It looks funny…
4:56 p.m. – In the signing now… One of the guys asked if I had been to the panel and I was like, “Well, you kind of can’t. Either you do the signing or the panel.”
That’s the truth of comic con, you surely can’t do it all. Lol…
5:34 p.m. – We’re heading out and grabbing some food, I’m quite literally starving!
6:54 p.m. – The three of us are walking around and there are tons of dealers from Los Angeles. They are swarming a lot of the stars who are around. It’s like I’m back home. LOL…
7:04 p.m. – I just spotted Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Alexis Denisof! I quickly asked him for a photo and he was super nice! I got a photo with Wesley!
7:19 p.m. – We’re heading over to the Hilton for a drink and spot a bunch of people leaving. One of them is Fifth Element star Milla Jovovich. I rummage though my shit and grab my Fifth Element poster that I brought. Milla is so nice.
She literally came over and took photos and signed for everyone! I wish I had my Dazed and Confused mini poster as well! Dammit! Ah well..
8:09 p.m. – We are all hanging out, but to be honest there are a lot of dealers out here and I’m just not fighting with all of them. I just see what people sign in the madness and I’m like, I wouldn’t even want that. Andrew Lincoln who I need was bombarded and you couldn’t even make out his autograph. I’ve seen him write a nice full name on things and even though I don’t have him on my Walking Dead stuff I wouldn’t want that.
8:45 p.m. – Susan and I are ready to head out and holy crap I spot Once Upon a Time star Lana Parrilla! She plays the Evil Queen on the series and I get all fanboy excited! Once is such a fun series and if you haven’t checked out the series you really have to. It’s so much fun! I’m really looking forward to the second season as well. Anyway, Lana was trying to hail a cab and I politely ask her if she would mind signing. She was like sure! So nice.
She signed my mini poster beautifully and then I asked if she would mind if I got a quick photo. Lana was like sure. She even asked if it came out okay. I mean… How nice is that!
And with that I put to a close day two of San Diego Comic Con 2012! Overall I had a lot of fun today. I didn’t get to see Erica or Annette much, but that’s the thing with Comic Con you just never know what’s going to happen.
Until next time kids…

Woah! Awesome day- extremely jealous of the Bones gloves and the mini poster. That’s awesome. <3 Emily Deschanel.
I've never heard of Brickleberry but there's one awesome signature on there- you got to meet Tom Kenny, the voice of Spongebob :O !
I LOVE Lana! She’s amazing. I’ve always wanted to meet Milla. Glad it was a fun day! 🙂
Mike as you know I was on the “outside” as well. I did extremely good graph wise ( close to 200 graphs for the four days/nights )and unless you’re into the panels and all I just don’t see a reason to pay $175 just to wait in long lines for the panels and signings ( and some panels didn’t even have signings ), just a chance at a raffle to get an autograph ticket and the humungous crowds. Also though sometimes the promo’s are nice ( like that awesome Bones poster!)You are stuck with having to get the studios item signed.Yeah sometimes you got a scribble or two but generally I got nice signatures, especially when it was very late at night when most of the dealers went back to their rooms. I actually prefer working the convention on the outside and I’d do the same next year. Glad you and team Mike are had fun!
Did I mention I love the Bones poster?
Damn you Mike! I have been wanting to meet Alexis Denisof for so long, but he barely makes appearances. Wesley is the best!
Brickleberry has the guy who voices Spongebob and the guy who created the show is Daniel Tosh from Tosh.0 who hosts a web style show on Comedy Central. It’s supposed to be pretty funny!
I’m so super-duper jealous of your BONES gloves. You know that’s my show. Not that I would have ever made it throught that maddness to try for that. I don’t know how you guys do it. I was getting claustrophobic just reading your post!
