With all the press surrounding the breakup of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, I thought it was the perfect time to look back at one of the awesome times that Angelina Jolie rocked it out for fans.
She was so nice during Unbroken. So so nice. This was an amazing day, how can you not love Angelina Jolie? Sigh..
Check out this weeks Throwback Thurs below!
Can I tell you how much I love me some Angelina Jolie? I love her. Not only is she stunning, but she’s talented in front of the camera and behind. If you haven’t seen In The Land of Blood and Honey, her directorial debut, it’s worth checking out. It’s not a feel good movie, but it’s very well done.
Today Angelina Jolie is having a q and a for her new directing epic, Unbroken. Sadly, I couldn’t get tickets in time to go in, so I, along with the rest of Hollywood decided to wait outside. Scotty joined me and Billy Beer was heading down as well.
When I got there, there were already like 25 people waiting. The nice thing is that everyone was really trying to be organized and lined up. It’s amazing when collector’s can work together! I’m telling you time and time again, if security and the celebrity can see people lined up and calm, they are way more willing to sign, and do photos.
Scotty and I were in the middle of the pack and more and more people kept arriving. I think in total there were about 40 or 50 people. Whew…
Apparently one of the guys in the movie already arrived but no one called for him.
Then as time was ticking out, the star of Unbroken Jack O’Connell arrived. Someone said that security told him that he couldn’t sign and had to go inside.
Then Tron: Legacy star Garrett Hedlund arrived. He looked over and popped inside.
Takamasa Ishihara aka Miyavi, arrived and was super cool and came over to sign for everyone.
I got him on my Unbroken mini poster.
And now… all we have to do is wait for Angelina Jolie. I’m nervous. Angelina is frakkin’ nice, for sure, but this is a lot of people and the security isn’t being nice.
Then a car pulls up. It’s Ms. Angelina Jolie. One thing about Angelina, if you see her in the movies, you think, “Oh she’s gorgeous!” But in person it’s like all the air gets sucked out of your lungs, she’s that stunning.
Angelina Jolie got out of the car and came right on over to sign. She was in such a great mood, and just went down the line. To everyone’s credit, they really behaved themselves. Everyone stayed in line and was calm.
Scotty had a Maleficent one sheet, I have a stack of stuff for Angelina, including a Tomb Raider mini poster, Unbroken mini poster, Salt mini poster, Maleficent mini poster, Wanted, etc… Yeah, I have a lot of stuff.
And of course the weather is barely holding back the rain. Ugh… But still Angelina Jolie keeps going down the line. I have my Maleficent and Tomb Raider posters out. After signing Scotty’s poster… He asked Angelina to sign on her forehead on the Maleficent poster (which was all black) so she can see it, and she laughed.
Angelina signed my Maleficent mini poster and then signed my Tomb Raider poster. She signed the Maleficent poster in the black which kind of sucks, but if I get another poster, perhaps there might be a giveaway in the future.
Then Angelina Jolie kept going, so I headed to the back of the line. I don’t like cutting in but if I can join the end that’s a different story. Angelina Jolie went to the end of the line, like the bitter end, I was able to get my Salt mini poster signed as well.
Then she went in and everyone was stunned. Seriously. So amazing.
The q and a was going to start and about half the people waited. I put my stuff in the car and decided to wait until the q and a let out. I have super bad luck on the way out, but hey, you never know.
It was a little bit of a cluster, I’m not going to lie. I was in the second row and thought there’s no way in hell I was going to get Angelina Jolie, but maybe I might be able to get the guys.
The dreaded rain…
It started coming down as soon as Angelina Jolie was leaving. Doh!
And here’s how awesome Angelina Jolie is… She still tried to sign as much as she could. I couldn’t really get in there, but towards the end, I asked, “Angelina, would you mind signing the Unbroken poster?” She looked up, grabbed it, signed it and handed it back.
OMG! What a day.
Then I walked to the front and there was Garrett Hedlund and Domhnall Gleeson. I ran on over and caught Domhnall Gleeson just as he was getting in the car. He signed the poster and then I talked to Garrett Hedlund for a hot second. He was really chill. He signed my poster and I asked him about the Tron: Legacy sequel. He said they were working on it, and wanted to make it really good.
Then I got a picture with him (that Scotty has not sent over) and I took one for Billy Beer.
Garrett Hedlund then was still talking to people, in the rain as he got in the car.
I did miss Jack O’Connell as Angelina Jolie was signing. Doh!
Still… I’m more than stoked. Seriously, what an awesome afternoon!
And thanks to God for holding off the weather!
Until next time kids…
