Pepsi And Amazon Botch The Back To The Future Pepsi Perfect Release By Taking Orders Hours Early On 10-20! Doh!
It’s official… Pepsi has screwed up!
The launch of the limited edition bottles of Pepsi Perfect were supposed to go onside on 10-21 the day that Marty and Doc went Back… To the Future!
Sadly, the promotion didn’t go so well. All the bottles of Pepsi Perfect were sold out before 10-21 and the links were not even searchable via the Wal-Mart and Amazon links.
I was trying to get a bottle myself and sadly was shut out.
The sad thing is, even the links on Amazon were not searchable so if you didn’t have the direct URL there’s no way to find the damn thing in the first place.
I called Amazon customer service and while the rep was nice and cordial she had no idea what was going on and I HAD TO GIVE HER THE URL!
No response from Amazon or Pepsi at this time, just thousands of angry people on Twitter venting and sharing their frustration!
The Amazon review is down to a 1 1/2 star because of all the angry comments and there are over 250 people writing in.
And all this for a $20.15 bottle of Pepsi. #FirstWorldProblems

There is a lot of speculation that the claims of early sales were either a hoax or a glitch, but that still doesn’t change the fact that Pepsi’s marketing department needs to fire someone for thinking that 6,500 was an acceptable number.
I saw that. The Amazon rep I talked to said they were sold out. She was fairly clueless but did confirm it.
Wal-Mart could be another story. They still should have just released this for the full day, took pre-orders and everyone would have been happy. Sigh
If you want one of these bad boys. Just head down to Mexico! They have one in every corner movie theater chain available. I’d rather have the Mexican version haha, it looks just the same and tastes better too!
Will never purchase from Pepsi again. Amazon you screwed up royally! Shame shame
