I check my emails every day and saw one from a movie chain called Hoyts that read ATTEND THE PREMIERE OF PUSS IN BOOTS. Straightaway I thought i have to go because Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek were to be attending. I bought the ticket and on the day headed out to arrive about 1 hour early and wait. They had a really good set up and i picked a spot near the entrance to the cinema complex because everyone would have to go past me to get to the movie.
Just before the carpet was supposed to start Puss himself came out and greeted all the fans.
I saw a guy holding these two big movie posters handing them out to the crowd but not where I was, he then went back inside and came out with about 4 more he was going to walk straight past where I was with about 15 other people and I sort of yelled out, really loud “Excuse me” then he looked at me and said “Yes” and I think I replied “ Can I please have one”, he then smiled and said “Sure, he also said When you see that stars (Antonio and Salma) be sure to wave it around or make noise so they notice the poster and they will come and sign it for you”.
About 10 minutes later the carpet started. All the local celebrities were taking their time like always. After about 30 minutes of the carpet starting the first person to walk past was Bindi Irwin (Daughter of Steve “The Crocodile Hunter” ) her little brother Robert and their mum Terri. I got an autograph from all of them.
I then saw Amanda Keller (Radio Host and also on Talking About Your Generation) and got an autograph from her in between Amanda and the Irwin’s I heard that Salma and Antonio had arrived. Like most celebrities at a premiere in Australia they were taking their time with each person and I believe that Antonio was doing full signatures. I was getting worried because I could just see them and the movie was supposed to be starting in about 5-10 minutes. There was one person ( I think from the movie company) trying to push them through.
There was one area were their were dancers and musicians playing Mexican (I think) music and Antonio stopped walking and started to dance and everyone found that funny including Salma. I saw “Mad” Max Markson (Celebrity Agent and Celebrity Apprentice) and I wanted his autograph but Salma and Antonio were about 5-10 meters behind him. But when Antonio started to dance, Max walked past me and started to talk to me. Then he went inside and Salma was starting to be pushed through so I lifted up the poster and she spotted it so she came over but for some dumb reason I handed her a red sharpie not a black one but I don’t think there is any difference.
Antonio then went to walk through but he saw the poster so he stopped and signed it again in red.
I then ducked under a chain to go watch the movie as I had tickets to it. Overall a great experience, the movie was enjoyable so I think this could be called a Mega- Success.
