Mike The Fanboy Flashback! Meeting Lady Gaga For The First Time… Before The Madness! Autographs! Photos and More!

I was talking to Scotty today, and I don’t know what even jogged this in my memory, but after I got off the phone with him “Marry the Night” popped on the radio. And I was like… Wow… I love this song… And then I remembered the first time I met Lady Gaga… You know, it was before she was “Lady Gaga.” Just Dance had just started to hit and she did a show at a smaller venue here in Los Angeles at the Wiltern.

I dragged Erica with me because Erica’s not much of a music collector. Unless it’s Broadway show tunes! Lol… Anyway, I had one thing, because really there wasn’t much memorabilia out then… lol… not like now! HA! But it was so low key; in fact Erica and I were the only ones waiting! The funny thing is… I have three Lady Gaga autographs now, and they are all different! I mean like… Totally different!

Today, I am going to try and do something I have never done, people have told me to try this, but I’m actually quite shy. I know that may be hard to believe but it’s true, anyway, today with the help of the lovely Erica who is back in town, I am going to try and get Lady Gaga before her show here in Los Angeles. I am armed with my Just Dance picture Disc and Erica is at the helm of the camera (she’s not a huge fan of a lot of musical artists but she is always game for an adventure) so here we go.

4:00 p.m. – We’re at the concert venue site. There are people lined up to get in already. I didn’t know Lady Gaga was THAT popular, apparently she is. We got kick as parking, and we spy where all the buses are parked.

4:03 p.m. – There are a couple security guards over by the loading entrance. Erica and I are debating about asking them if “The Lady” is in the building yet. The consensus is that Erica should ask, because she is shorter and less threatening. I can’t help being 6’3! I blame my mother for that! LOL…

4:05 p.m. – Erica talked to the guards; they said she is already inside. Dammit! Now what…

4:09 p.m. – We’re still debating about what to do… Should we go, are the security guards lying, sigh…

4:11 p.m. – Okay, we’re going to hang for just a little while longer… Wait… What’s that…?

4:13 p.m. – There is a security guard still in front of the bus, and a camera man just walked off. Hmmmm…

4:16 p.m. – Erica says we should keep our eyes peeled, cause she could be doing interviews inside the bus. Oh, someone else is getting off…..

4:17 p.m. – Oh, there she is, It’s Lady Gaga; She is walking over to the stage side door. She is very busy going over all the itinerary of the day, and doesn’t really see us. I asked for an auto, and she kind of passes me up, but then realizes why I’m there and stops to sign my picture disc.

She is very nice, and looks at Erica to see if she would like something signed but Erica doesn’t have anything, which makes me wish I bought the Poker Face Vinyl I was eyeing the other day… grrrr…
Still, it was a great experience, and talk about being in the right place at the right time! Whoo Hoo!
