I love the Killers and I’m so jealous that Scotty had such an awesome time in Las Vegas! It sounds like a magical night and an awesome weekend getaway!
Scotty was treated to a VIP concert with The Killers and even got to meet Brandon Flowers after the show!
How awesome is that?

Not So Super Short Monday – The Killers – Sam’s Town – Decennial Extravaganza
Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino – Las Vegas, NV
October 2, 2016
Some of you may know I am a HUGE fan of The Killers. How can you not love them? They have so many memorable hits. Their albums are all great cohesive pieces of work. This past weekend the group celebrated the tenth anniversary of their sophomore album “Sam’s Town.” They celebrated by having a two night run at…Where else?…Sam’s Town in Las Vegas. I was not going to miss this for the world. I splurged and bought the VIP ticket and it was worth every penny.
This was an epic night of epic proportion. As you walked in the hotel, The Killers banners were everywhere, their music was playing, and fans had smiles of excitement on their faces. It was such a happy environment. I got in line to pick up my ticket. The moment the doors opened, I was about to burst.
I got my lanyard, my autographed copy of the limited edition anniversary Sam’s Town album, poster, and ticket. Now, only four hours until the special VIP private performance.
I got in line and met some really nice people and we began to share our favorite Killers concert moments, encounters, and favorite songs. It was such a fun afternoon. Then, it was time to enter the special performance. We entered and I got my spot on the stage. When I say stage, I should say small riser. It was so small and right by the pool. Were the guys going to be singing that close to us? It was AMAZING. Brandon, Ronnie, Mark, and Dave came on stage, and I was going to lose it. They performed “Human” and “When You Were Young.” Both were done in very stripped down versions. It was so cool. Did I mention this night was EPIC?
Then, as a continued part of the VIP package, we were let into the venue first. This venue was pretty small, so I did not get my barricade spot. Many of the people opted out of standing close for the special performance to be first in line for the venue. I get it, but how many times will you see the guys performing on a tiny stage like that? I was pleased with my decision and second row spot in the main venue. By the time all the VIPs were in, the first 6-8 rows of people were full. The regular general admission people came in with a look of shock that everything was full.
It was another hour and a half of waiting until the guys took the main stage. BUT, once they did….EPIC! The stage, confetti, and the title track…Sam’s Town. I’m getting chills thinking about it as I write. To me, it is exciting to be in the hometown of the band and being in the place that gave the album its name. They played the album cover to cover. The guys then proceeded to play songs from the other albums, including, my favorite Killers’ song, “A Dustland Fairytale.” I mean, could the night get any better?
I said my goodbyes to my new fellow Killer compadres and made my way to the car.
As I made my way to the car, I saw a familiar site for us in Los Angeles…..the barricade. I waited with a bunch people and found that I had missed Dave and Mark. Ronnie came out and pulled his truck over to tell us he was not feeling well and needed to go home but thanked us for all the support. Then, in usual amazing fan friendly fashion, Brandon made his way out to meet everyone. He signed one item for everyone. As I had taken my stuff back to where I was staying, for fear of getting damaged in the crowd, I had him sign my lanyard. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day.
Thank you Brandon, Ronnie, Mark, and Dave for celebrating the album. I hope there will be a celebration for the 20th!
