Today is The World’s End premiere. Now, if you couldn’t tell, I’m a huge fan of the Edgar Wright-Simon Pegg-Nick Frost collaborations. Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are two of my favorite films and now the third film in the “series” is The World’s End. I feel like this is World’s End week here at MTF.
I’m hoping for some awesome success at the World’s End premiere as I don’t know how but apparently I need Simon Pegg to sign 500 things. It’s crazy but true.
I arrived and met up with Billy Beer and Kate, who claims she’s going to write something for the site but as of yet hasn’t. Harrumph.
The barricades have just gone up and while it’s usually calm, today it’s a mad dash into the pen. Doh! I grabbed whatever I could around me and got a spot. I didn’t get near Billy and Kate though. Ah well.
It’s crazy that, while there’s not THAT many people here, it’s still nutty.
Thankfully, I’m with some cool people and I can still talk to Billy and CB brought me a Diet Coke. That was very nice of him. Although, I do know I have a Batman toy he wants lol…
Okay, I’m going to spare you the gross details but it’s damn hot and I’m sure no one in this pen smells fresh. In fact, I don’t think I smell fresh…
It’s a long long time… In fact the sun is draining my soul ever so slowly. It’s like scorching my cranium… All I keep doing is flashing back to the Paul premiere and how easy it was. In fact, Simon and Nick showed up early to sign for everyone. Now, it’s a full day of waiting. LOL… #firstworldproblems
More and more people are arriving including the lovely Ms. Pinky. It’s not hyper packed but it’s getting fuller and fuller.
The carpet it open now, it’s about 6:30 and people are starting to filter in.
I can see Edgar Wright and he’s starting to do interviews.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are here now too. Everyone is interviewing and we’re at the end of the carpet so it’s just a wait now.
Simon is getting closer to us and we’re yelling for him. He waves and gives us the one second wave.
I know how nice Simon Pegg is, he’s awesome.
The cast gets together for a group photo later on and then Simon Pegg comes right on over to sign for everyone.
He’s so cool and is taking his time signing. He starts at the end and comes on down the line.
Simon turns to my side and signs my star trek poster and then… I drop it. Seriously, my board goes flying. WTF! Simon signs my World’s End poster and then Simon gets my poster for me and gives it back. How frakking nice!
Then security start being really specific about one each even though Simon doesn’t care.
I asked Simon if he would mind signing my Mission impossible poster and everyone yells “one each!” I was like, “Oh sorry!” and then Simon signed it anyway because he’s super cool.
He makes it all the way down the line and then heads back.
Nick Frost is coming over now.
They are being really tight and Nick is trying to stick to one thing each.
That’s fine. He’s nice and I had him sign my World’s End mini poster. I figure I might as well finish it.
Nick makes it down the line and then heads back just as Edgar Wright is coming over.
Edgar doesn’t what he signs and does a couple per person.
He signs my World’s End mini poster and also my Hot Fuzz mini poster as well. He’s not super chatty and right after me, his publicist pulls him to go inside.
And that as we say is that.
I did stop to snap a quick photo of Billy with a Keep Calm and have a Cocktail napkin set. LOL…
It was a long, hot, rough and sweaty day. But I’m happy that I got so much signed.
I’m seeing The World’s End on Fri which I’m excited about!
Until next time kids…
