Man oh man, what a sad day! I, like so many of you, just heard the news that Glee star Cory Monteith has passed away.
He was way way too young.
Just too too young.
According to the Vancouver police, his body was found around noon when Cory missed his check out time. The hotel staff went to investigate and found his body.
No one knows the exact cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.
This is horrible. My heart goes out to his friends, cast mates and family during this time.
I met Cory numerous times throughout the years and in fact was probably one of the first autographs he signed.
Erica and I went to an early screening of Glee at Outfest which was before the first episode even aired. We saw the pilot online and really liked it. There were only a few of us there and even the FOX publicist said, “Look, you’re already signing autographs!”
Since that day, I’ve ran into Cory a bunch of times and every time he was so nice to the fans. He would always take time out to sign, and pose for photos. He was just very kind.
The last time I met Cory, I had him sign the Glee Rolling Stone cover and we actually talked about the Rolling Stone shoot for a second. He, said you know… “I love this cover but the shoot was so hard.” I was like really? He said, “Yeah, it was kind of a nightmare.” That’s how he was though, just humble and nice, at least in my experience.
It’s so sad when anyone passes but when someone so young leaves this earth it’s a true tragedy.
On behalf of the entire MTF Family, Cory you will be missed!
