Iron Man 3 Hollywood World Movie Premiere! Billy Beer Is On The Scene! With Robert Downey Jr.! Don Cheadle! Guy Pierce! Jamie Alexander! Zachary Levi! Cobie Smulders! Hayley Atwell! Autographs! Photos! And More!
While I’m back home visiting with my Mom, Grandma and Sis all the MTF gang headed out to the Iron Man 3 World premiere. I know it was going to be a hard long day and I’m glad that Mr. Billy Beer was there to give us the full scoop.
Disney premiere’s at the El Capitan are always tough. Limited Space, who knows where people are going to drop etc… It’s rough, I remember The Avengers premiere and it was a slight nightmare. LOL…
Check out Billy Beer’s report from the premiere of Iron Man 3 after the jump!

Welcome back to Billy Beer’s Barstool. I love it when Mike the Fanboy
decides to mention the fact that Billy will be writing up a review on
something when he didn’t even ask me 🙂
(Editor’s Note: Me? Shwah? M-)
There was a lot of the fanboy
family there! Why not ask them! Why not say, “Billy, you must have had
a long day. Why don’t you take a break from this one, and I’ll let
someone else do it” Agh! Actually I think we all had a long day, cause
at one point everyone asked me if I was going to do the write up. It’s
2 days later, and my body is still hurting. But was it worth it?????
Iron Man 3 is probably going to be the biggest movie this summer!
Well, you’ll have to read and see.
I get to the premiere a little early. I’m the 3rd person there.
Actually I’m the 4th person there if you count the guy passed out on
Hollywood Blvd.
This is just the start of all the crazy things to come! Oh Great!
Now the passed out guy is puking in his sleep, and it’s rolling down
to where we have our bags and blankets. Now he is snoring! Well, at
least he’s still alive. The cops stop by and see what’s up. They don’t
want to deal with it, so they ask us if we’re OK. We assure them we
are fine and they drive off. A few more Iron Man fans start to arrive,
including Colin whose hanging with us today. Now we have someone
walking the streets trying to wake up the guy. First he yells at him,
then he’s striking him, and finally he literally drags him into the
middle of the street. It’s gone way too far and a couple of people
call the cops. The drunk guy is transported away, and the other guy is
arrested. What a great start to my morning.
As time goes by, more and more people start arriving. Eventually I’m
joined by a couple of more friends, and Fangirl Erica. It’s not as
crazy as Avengers was, but the crowd is getting pretty big. While
we’re sitting there, we get to witness 2 loading trucks backing into
each other.
I wish I was as detailed oriented like Mike, but I already gave you
the good stories, I don’t think I need to tell you about how for the
next few hours all everyone did was worry about what spots they were
going to be in. Me and a couple of other people pretty much said this
is where I’m standing, if I guessed wrong, what am I going to do. It
made it a much less stressful day! K-9 unit has gone through, “fan
pit” is set, let’s start this party!
MONTAGE!
First arrival was a little kid. Don’t exactly know who he is, but
people are yelling for him to come over. We think we have a good spot
for drops, but he starts on the other end, and pretty much stays
there. Let’s hope they all don’t start down there!
Oh look it’s Bella Thorne! Since I FINALLY got my Bella picture signed
the other day after doing a 1 for 1 a long time ago and only getting
one, I was looking for Scotty to see if he needed any help with her.
But that would have been wasted breath, she wasn’t coming over.
(Editor’s Note: Scotty is a HUGE Bella Thorne fan. I’m sure he was super sad that she blew everyone off. Sorry Bud! M-)
Hey look, they’re passing out Iron Man Masks!
Then a slew of more Disney stars arrive. But none of them come over.
(good, bring on the real stars!)
Finally, the first real name arrives. Stan the Man Lee! Crap, he goes
to the same place the little kid went! He signs forever, but he never
really moves. I would love to get him, but I can’t leave my spot.
There are too many people that would try and take it.
Now our first big actress. Hayley Atwell arrives. Same story! Same
place! UGH! I’m starting to think we picked the wrong spot!
Ben Kingsley is next to arrive. Everyone picked the wrong spot for
him. He flew on by everyone barely even giving us a wave. Ghandi he is
not!
Here come’s Jaimie Alexander. She says she’ll do it after the press.
Which I usually don’t believe, but she has always been so nice. Oh,
and there’s her boyfriend Peter Facinelli.
There are other random people showing up, lesser stars. This article
is already long enough (I can’t even imagine how many tags Mike is
going to put on it!)
(Editor’s Note: Wow, kick a fanboy when he’s out of the state! M-)
so we’ll stick to the bigger stars.
Don Cheadle is the first big name to finally come over to our section.
He starts with Colin and the starts moving away from me. NOOOOO! This
is not going well!
Now thanks to my good friend Travo, I am able to spot WWE Wrestlers
quite well. And who come walking down the walkers line. Only one of
their biggest stars CM Punk and Lita. I call over to Punk, and tell
him I’m a Cubs fan (he’s from Chicago), and it works. After 2 tries, I
get a picture with him, and get one with Lita too.
Here comes Gwyneth Paltrow!!! The People Magazine’s Sexiest person
alive………. And there she goes. Stiffing the whole line. And I
thought she was going to be one of the ones that did it. Now I’m
really getting disappointed!
Guy Pierce arrives and makes up for Gwenith. He comes right over and
signs my cast poster and my poster of him. Finally, an autograph!
Zachary Levi is next to arrive. Now if there was an MVP for the night,
it was Levi. He interacted with the fans, took pictures with them,
signed for them, and even jumped a rail for them. I don’t think this
guy could have been any nicer!
Rebecca Hall arrives shortly after, she’s torn on what to do. She
keeps pointing to us, but doesn’t know if she has time. She finally
decides to take the red carpet.
OK, now things are starting to get CRAZY! Colbie arrived, and has
started signing on the other end, Jaimie finished the carpet and has
started on the opposite end as Colbie, and who arrives. Robert, Mr.
Iron Man himself, driving up in style as usual. Now what we’re
expecting is him to walk over, take a couple of pictures so the press
can see him maybe sign a napkin or two, and then be off.
Couldn’t be any more wrong. He takes a couple of pictures, and then
walks all the way down to the starting point of the line, and tells
people he’ll come all the way down. And that is exactly what he does!
All I brought for him was my cast poster. Oh well. As he’s getting
closer, Jaimie is getting closer from the other direction. They are on
a crash course that might end right in front of me. Luckily Jamie
speeds up, and gets my picture done so I can focus on Robert.
He finally gets there. Time to start getting crushed. He’s able to
grab my poster, and sign it right over Guy’s auto. GREAT! I really
don’t care. I’m just really happy to get him. Otherwise this day would
have really sucked!
Colbie then comes over after the Robert wave. If you didn’t know, I’m
a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother. Robin is my favorite character of
the show, and I love me some Robin Sparkles. After MUCH searching, I
finally found an 11 x 14 picture of her. Which she laughed at and signed. Then I kinda got my picture with her.
Emily Vancamp then did her best gwyneth paltrow impersonation!
Then finally Tom Hiddleston arrives. If it wasn’t for Levi, this guy
would probably have won the award for most autographs signed. He too
went all the way down the line, signing for everyone and taking
pictures.
That’s it for arrivals, but I decide to go around the other side and
try and get some people before the go into the theater. When I get
there, I find out I just missed Stan Lee. Grrrr. Most of the cast just
walks on by. Rebecca Hall finally comes over for us though. She is
super nice, and signs my poster and picture. Now it’s time to wait for
departures.
Departures is a mess. They keep moving the spot where they are telling
people to stand, so people are getting upset by their spots. I thought
I was in the front row, but the final time they moved it, I got
screwed and am now hitting up the second row.
Some of the big names are already gone or are going straight to their
limos, but there are still a number of people I need.
Don is one of the first ones to hit up our section. DVD Dave was nice
enough to help me get mine signed.
Jon Favreau stopped by our section too, and I got him on my poster.
Hayley, kinda goes a different direction, and since I’ve never gotten
her, I run over there. She’s nice and signs my picture. I ask for a
photo which she does, but then I realize my camera was set to the
wrong setting, and it didn’t come out. I feel bad, but follow her and
ask for another one which she is nice enough to do.
I go back where I was, and Jaimie comes over again. I get my final
piece for her done. But miss out on the photo op.
And that’s about it. I know I missed a number of things and a number
of people, but these are just some of the highlights. I already feel
like I’ve written a small book here. Until next time, enjoy those
Happy Hour drinks, Lord knows I need one!
Billy, you’re one brave soul! Thanks for writing about this epic premiere and submitting photos. It was a very fun read
