Outlander Costume Exhibit – The Finale is Coming!
The Finale is Coming!
Did you guys survive a weekend without “Outlander” while we anxiously anticipate the Finale? Some of you may have watched the all day marathon, some may have done an outside activity like attending the Costa Mesa Scottish Festival, personally I went to The Grove here in Los Angeles to see the costumes on exhibit.
It was just awesome to get the chance to look at these up close. To see the detail, the material, etc. Kind of wished I could see the back as well, but now I’m just getting greedy 😉
So how did you guys spend the weekend?
Apologies for the quality of the pics, but the way the glass is set up there’s a lot of reflection.
So when you come down from the parking garage you see the first case:
These are some we’ll recognize as being worn by Dougal MacKenzie (Graham McTavish) and Geillis Duncan (Lotte Verbeek). I tried to capture the captions on the glass that said which episode, etc. but my phone couldn’t capture them quite right 🙁
One of Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) from Castle Leoch
Jamie’s MacKenzie Tartan (Sam Heughan)
A Redcoat Office Uniform
Another of Geillis Duncan’s from “The Devil’s Mark”
A ‘Highlander’ Costume (and my reflection…lol)
But the case with the dress we all really wanted to see was near the fountain:
I got there just after 10am (when The Grove opens) and obviously I wasn’t the only one who had come to admire these beauties 😉
Jack Randall’s (Tobias Menzies) uniform
Frank (Tobias Menzies) and Claire Randall’s (Caitriona Balfe) 1940’s outfits
But the real show stopper…the one we all want to cosplay….THE WEDDING DRESS!!!! So just admire:
Ok…and Jamie’s Fraser tartan isn’t bad either 😉
I tried to capture one that really showed off the colors:
But…meh….Novel Strumpet fail in that I didn’t take my ‘real’ camera….boooooo….
And that’s pretty much it! There were signs all around The Grove
So it was quite a lovely way to spend the morning!
