How much do we love her? Right now, she’s in the big apple and headed down to catch Bryan Cranston’s play All The Way. Needless to say, she loved it!
And… As a special treat, she got to meet Bryan Cranston! Nice! Walter White! How cool is that?!?
Check out her amazing recap below!!!
Yup, I’m still in New York and keeping myself pretty busy with plenty of exploring and adventures. My day started out very early today. I head off to try my luck with Daniel Radcliffe. After a long wait, it ended up with total sadness. Let’s just say people played dirty and security had no control over the situation what so ever. Oh well, these things happen. I was still excited to see Daniel for the first time. He was so close, but yet so far away lol…Better luck next time! =)
I spent the whole day at The MET and was totally excited about watching “ALL THE WAY” starring none other than Bryan Cranston that night. After spending hours on end at the museum, I head towards the Neil Simon theatre. I reach the theatre just in time for the play to start.
I have to admit that I’m really not familiar with Lyndon B. Johnson, but after watching Bryan Cranston I couldn’t help but to look up more about this President.
Bryan was absolutely brilliant and really transformed himself to bring the character to life.
The play was quite intense, but he still brought some laughter to the audience in between. Some of you might wonder, was he ever in his underwear? Yes….yes, he was on stage in his boxers! =D
After the play, the whole cast came out as the entire audience gave them a standing ovation. Bryan thanked everyone and asked us if he could take a minute of our time to talk about a charity they are supporting.
As he was explaining about the charity, red buckets were going up and down the aisles as people contributed whatever they can in support.
Then he started talking about how he has to wear prosthetic earlobes to the play since Lyndon B. Johnson’s ears were quite long. Bryan asked the audience if anyone would be interested in buying them if they were to auction them off and before we even knew it, the auction started out with a starting bid of $500.00.
People kept bidding, and as the bidding was going on, Bryan started to slowly take off the prosthetics right on stage. I don’t know why, but I had so much fun just watching this all go down. Now the price has gone all the way up to $1700.00. Yikes!!! There were two people fighting for it, so Bryan announced that he has two pairs and he is willing to auction them both if they are willing to buy them. Yup, two pairs of prosthetic earlobes signed by Bryan Cranston were just auctioned off to two bidders, $1700.00 each.
When you thought the fun was over, they brought up more chances for other audience who are not so fortunate to spend that kind of money to get in on this action. Bottom line, I ended up sprinting downstairs and grabbing my piece of the pie! 😉 I got to go backstage and meet the AMAZING Bryan Cranston!!!!!! =D They gave us a little tour backstage and allowed us to take pictures.
I was completely overwhelmed. The staff was super nice and they were shocked at the amount of money raised. Apparently this was their first time doing it, so if you guys want to get your own chance to own something awesome and meet the cast, head on down to the Neil Simon theatre and watch the play! =)
I was the last one to meet Bryan and it was such a pleasure and an honor to have this amazing chance to really say hi and talk to him.
He was about to shake my hand, but I just went over and hugged him! Lol… =D I just had to do it. This might just be my only chance. I was way too nervous to get a lot of words out, but every minute was totally worth it and he was beyond sweet and humble.
I thanked him and told him it was my first time in New York and had to come and see his play. I think I kept babbling on about how brilliant he is and how much I enjoy his work. I got to take a photo with him. I asked the guy helping if he could take a couple just to be safe and Bryan was like, “What the heck, take three!” lol…We were all laughing and the guy who took our picture assured me that they were all fine and he even took photos while Bryan was signing my Playbill.
I couldn’t thank him enough, and at the end Bryan said, “Thank you so much for coming Anushika, have a good night!” I just died when he said my name right!!!! Lol…OMG!!!! Bryan Cranston knows my name!!!! I know, I know….I had to cherish that moment.
As I was walking out, they gave this awesome bag signed by Bryan.
I was so happy, I was just hugging everybody. I came out the stage door high on life!!!! ^_^ I did NOT expect any of this to happen. For a day that started out with pure disappointment, it sure did end with a quite high note. This will definitely be one of the highlights of my trip. Anyway, if you are around, check out the play. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
