Throwback Thurs! I’m Mad For Christina Hendricks! Meeting The Mad Men Star With Jared Harris And More!

I was just thinking about how much I’m going to miss Mad Men this year. The series was just so good and I hope it gets some Emmy love this year, being that it’s the final year. Can you believe that none of the actors have ever won an Emmy in the lead or supporting categories? It’s kind of shocking.

Can I tell you how much I love AMC’s Mad Men? Can I? I love it! Some of the best television ever. It’s such a wonderful character study and one of my personal favorites. So, when I heard the cast was getting together for a Q and A and a screening I RSVP’d so fast you wouldn’t believe it… Then I hit it… traffic… sigh… Plans shot to hell… DOH!

7:33 p.m. – I am so late. Erica keeps calling me from the theatre… We had reservations to go in, but I’m stuck in traffic, and even Erica was late, so we didn’t make it. Scotty called to cancel as well. Lol… Ah…

7:35 p.m. – I’m power walking in. I see a few other collectors hanging out and so I know I’m in the right place…

7:35 p.m. – Erica asked the ushers if we could still go in and they said no. So we are relegated to standing outside to have our stuff signed. Lol… What can you do? It’s not like we’re not used to it.

7:39 p.m. – Vincent Kartheiser just walked past me. I have him on my poster so that’s okay. He’s such a nice guy. I still have a bit of bitterness against him for his role on Angel, but I get that it’s not his fault. Anyway, he’s here. We don’t know who else is even supposed to be here today, so it’s kinda a crap shoot.

7:45 p.m. – Someone said that Rich Sommer was here… and was shopping at Barnes and Noble… I’ve seen him out like five times and have never gotten him simply because I never have my Mad Men poster with me!

7:55 p.m. – Ah, we are waiting inside at least… That’s a nice feeling… I have no idea which cast members are going to be here. It didn’t list any names only “select” cast members… lol… or in other words, the cast members that show up.

8:03 p.m. – I have a sneaking suspicion that Jon Hamm will not be here… Ah well…

8:13 p.m. – A car is pulling up… I see… Red hair… holy crap it’s Christina Hendricks!
I love her! Joan is my favorite. She is so sweet and signs for everyone. She gets my poster and then looks at me cause I’m so shy with people I really like. She says, “Hi.” And I tell her that I just saw her on Firefly and thought she was great. She said, “Oh wow!” Erica had to chime in that she gave me the DVD’s lol…

8:14 p.m. – Christina Hendricks signed my poster and also my Rolling Stone. Then she got Erica’s Mad Men insert card as well. She signs a couple for everyone. I really want a picture, but I’m too nervous… lol… When it’s someone I really like the first time I meet them I get so shy. Lol…

8:15 p.m. – Erica took my Esquire magazine from me with Christina on the cover and got it signed for me too. So, now I got three! Whoo hoo! That made the trip totally worth it.

8:18 p.m. – Christina Hendricks is simply gorgeous in person. I mean like stunning! I Think I have a thing for fiery redheads… Marcia Cross, Shirley Manson, Christina Hendricks… hmmm I may have discovered a new fetish of mine…

8:22 p.m. – A few other people are coming in now… I think either writers or people from AMC.

8:25 p.m. – Oh, there’s Rich Sommer going up the escalator… Dammit, I missed him again! Lol… I just was spacing out and no one else saw him. Ah well… that’s six times now…

8:30 p.m. – I see Jared Harris just got here. He’s signing for a couple other collectors’ and I go over. He’s so nice. Erica got him on her Mad Men insert and I got him on my poster.

8:34 p.m. – His assistant/publicist told Jared Harris to stop signing blanks, because people can then print anything on it, and made him stop signing them. Lol… I love it.

Well, that was a fun night; I got a couple people, and especially Christina Hendricks. Ah, that makes me so happy. Ah well… now I’m going home to bed. Well, I’m getting Panda Express and then going to bed, lol… Redheads… who knew?
